review posted under caltabs, I edited to add length so the full version might not be showing up yet: this game is a blast. the simple game mechanic of defending the gate with your finger is done to perfection. The different weapons and upgrades mixed with the different monster types that have unique weaknesses makes for a killer experience. Every level also has an epic boss battle. The placement of flowers that damage you when hit ensure that you cannot just mindlessly slash away. There are also rpg elements in your weapon upgrading choices. Once you've completed normal mode, you've got boss rush and endless mode to keep you playing. Ive played this so much my fingers hurt.
I entered the review that I had already made for this game (don't tend to publish them in the appstore), so here it is (you can also read it on my blog): "Some time ago, Tapplay started hyping up their new game, a game consisting of, well, every evil-doer in you agenda, leprechauns, zombies, mummies, werewolves, etc. But they added a spin, they made it not scary, but charismatic and fun. The whole game is very cartoony and everything (from the presentation to the information cards on the enemies) feels very nicely put together. The game itself consists of 3 difficulties, easy, normal and madness (this one needing to be unlocked after beating normal, and for a good reason, if you don't have weapon upgrades, this will be hard, but more on that later). After you choose how hard will the roots of all evil, cartoon style, will be, it is time to get into the campaign. Campaign mode consists of a total of 5 "worlds" with 5 levels and a boss each, so we're talking about 25 levels + 5 bosses, so, technically 30 stages. Yes, you might think it is small, but wait wait wait! After you beat them all, you unlock Boss Rush mode (IMO, a nice addition to ANY game with bosses) and if that is not enough for you, after that, you unlock... PAM PAM! Yes! Endless mode, so... yeah, enjoy, you freak of nature that enjoys killing freaks of nature . Gameplay is simple, these, creatures, are trying to scape the graveyard, through, conviniently, the main gate, so it is your job to keep them in there so that the only thing they annoy (other than you) is each other. For that purpose, you have a total of 8 unlockable weapons in your arsenal, you begin with the typical knife and pistol, but you can even unlock flamethrowers and... wait for it... a nuclear bomb! (which, apparently, only affects the graveyard, so don't you worry about the world outside of it). You don't have freedom to unlock them, you must do so in order, but you do have freedom to upgrade them however you want. You might think this was a reckless decision from the devs part, but it comes for a reason. Not only must you kill every creature before you reach the game, but they all come with they own status card (think PvZ but with more info) telling you about their strength, speed and defense, and also which weapons they're susceptible to. Yes, you are forced to be in constant weapon switching in order to dispose of the enemies in the best way possible, which is awesome, as it adds to the diversity in which the game demands you to be played, potentially making it less monotonous than all the games in this branch (TD, etc) tend to get. The game has a lot going for it and few things against it, so I really recommend getting it. One thing I must advice you, though, in case you decide to do so, is, the knife mechanic can get tiresome, so, remember you have 8 weapons! Don't be cheap! Use them all! if you do that, the game is far more enjoyable . " Apple ID: Khamous578
Written not very good. Here is what I posted in HK store (I only have credit in HK account). Somebody compare this game to PvZ. TBH, it is total different gameplay. 1. The graphics is so cute. It also has different monstor (Asian style and western style). 2. Your finger will be very tired becuase when you start to play, you don't want to stop. Before you play, please warm up your finger. 3. 7 weapons can be upgraded. Of course, your castle health can upgrade too. 4. 3 different difficult levels and you can replay any finished level and chapter to earn more money for upgrade. US$1.99 is stolen of this game. You will love it. WARNING: Remember to rest a few minutes after playing 30mins. Take care of your health. ^_^ HK iTune name: 小狗亞包
Mayhem Monster Mayhem is the best game of its kind in the app store to date. Search throughout the 1000s of games in iTunes and you will not find a more precise, finely tuned, candy colored excersise in touch screen mayhem when it comes to this genre of frantic finger slashing bug eyed monster death. Tons of plushy b-movie creatures storm your cemetary gate in droves, and you have to use you mass of different weapons to prevent this onslaught from reaching the outer world. This app is a colorful, artful masterpiece with great attention to style and cool detail in animated gory death [see zombie brain fountain death]. Five stars. here is my review which i will post now, and then post up in iTunes right after...thanks. rshkhsee had to handwrite it again, thought you could copy/paste into iTunes...changed it a bit...
Yeaaaahh!!!! App Store Name: Emt King This game is lots of fun. It is a castle defense game, but instead of flinging your shooting, blasting, electricuting, nuking, and slashing monsters away. The gameplay is wonderful great sounds for everything, great animations and the number of monsters to shoot are great. The boss battles are very fun and challenging. Theres also lots of weapons to use and they are all upgradable. With two game modes to play ,three difficulties to choose from whats not to like. As for the aiming below the enemy that people are complaining about it was to keep our fingers out of the way so we can enjoy the awesome art work. Very Very good game and everyone should buy it.Highly Recommended
I left a review in iTunes as BillyJon. My iTunes review: This is a tower defense game that is cartoon-like. The monsters are very cute. You have to watch out for the werewolf kid that runs very fast to the gate. Other than that, you have to watch out for the flowers that will inflict damage on you when you shoot at them. The gameplay is quite balanced but I wish the monsters have a blood bar above themselves so that you will know how many kills you need to destroy them. The game music is very nice to listen. The only disturbing thing is the green blobs that come into the game and they like to separate and produce more. This will need some strategy against them. The game can include a strategy book to destroy the monsters.
iTunes username: laladanger Review: A Great Non-Zombie (mainly) Tower Defense Game Monster Mayhem is a great game that strays from the ever so common zombie theme. There are a variety of backgrounds and an even greater variety of monsters whose stats are presented to you baseball card style. They all have unique stats, appearances, and special attributes. There are selection of weapons each with ammo and upgrades. However, they only unlock one after the other so if you wanted to see all your choices before you bought a weapon, youre out of luck. The bosses are presented at the end of each world of about 5 stages each with their own number of waves. Different tactics are needed to kill them. The only problem for me was difficultly of swiping the monster with the knife, though this may have been the intention to make the weapon seem less powerful. If you were looking for another tower defense game or just a fun experience, then this is one not to miss. 5 stars

Hopefully I'm not too late. I couldn't write a review earlier because I was too busy playing Monster Mayhem My iTunes review username is Touchgamer3g. Here's my review : Out of all of the defense games in the App Store, Monster Mayhem ranks at the top. The control scheme works perfectly and is easy to learn and hard to master. That is what makes the game so much fun! There are loads of weapons including guns and knives to kill the monsters with. The cartoon graphics are well done along with the smooth gameplay. I can play Monster Mayhem for hours and not get bored. If you like this genre then I recommend you pick up Monster Mayhem right away and get to killing some monsters!
I've had a blast playing Monster Mayhem. Not sure if this contest is still on, but this is the review I posted (as cjsbug): Monster Mayhem is a very amusing castle defense game with lots of polish and a "cartoon gore" style that makes me laugh. The variety of monsters with their different characteristics, strengths and weaknesses combined with the different choices of weapons and upgrades give this game some dimension. It can get a little tricky switching between weapons when monsters are moving quickly, but you don't want it too easy, right ? Gameplay sucked me in for quite awhile tapping and swiping until my fingers hurt! An excellent purchase imho. No regrets at all! Cheers!
