I too guessed the plot from the trailer, but this didn't stunt my enjoyment of it. Shutter Island is a very good film, despite half-knowing the ending.
What are you talking about?? He's put out some great films since then, Casino, The Departed, The Aviator, to name a couple.
It doesn't kill the movie completely, but in the case of Shutter Island I found the conspiracy far more interesting than the actual revelation; I was waiting for a second twist right to the end. Plus, because the whole movie revolves around the mystery of the Island and what's really going on there; to hint too heavily at the twist early on really took a lot of the tension and general mystery out of the film. Which left only the acting and spectacle to entertain, which did a great job, but it doesn't make me want to rush back and watch it again.
Ah the Departed... how I long for thee..... oh wait its on my shelf over there. I might just go watch it now. I love it so much.
I watched it & not doubt it is such an awesome feeling to get something that one wanted for over 10 years, A BIG Thank you to *Drumrolls* Electric_Shaman, Rocketman919 & MidianGTX for making me feel so in So many scenes, He did look like Jim Carrey & I ended up recollecting so much of what I had seen already, the Cemetery scene, The car's change over & too much to mention scenes
Nice one It is a good film. Have you seen Evil Dead 2? It's more of a traditional horror than Army of Darkness but quite possibly better and considered more of a classic.
Plus blu Ray films run like 25-30 bucks a pop. Netflix with blu ray, that's where it's at. Like 11 bucks for unlimited movies, plus access to the instant watch thing.
Because I like films and so I collect them. As I said before, it's not the twist I care about (which I'd completely figured out the instant the second dude came along anyway, rendering the majority of the movie twist-free) it's everything else. Oh, and I paid less than it costs to see a film at the cinema, now that really is a waste of money. ...and it looks fantastic in Blu-ray. Netflix can kiss my nuts, I'm not poor.
Got that a while ago. I'm running out of titles that are Blu-ray worthy... most I'm fine just picking up on DVD. I might end up getting Fight Club though since my DVD is scratched and skips.
yeah, knowing a twist in a movie doesn't make it bad to watch again, you can still enjoy it, like you enjoy songs even though you know what's coming. I really want Moon on DVD (don't have a BluRay player ) It's such an awesome film
