i reckon they will probably wait and see the feedback on the multiplayer of MCS and then sort out the issues in that before releasing NOVA, otherwise people will get pissed off with them (just like what is happening with MCS atm). Personally I would rather they release it now with just single player and BT, if this is what they are doing, but I'm guessing quite a lot of people will pack a sad if this happens and have a mean cry about how they hate gameloft and will never buy from them again if there is no internet multiplayer at launch.
I was really looking foward to this game, especially after watching the trailers. But when I found out that the length was going to be the same as MC:S, 10 lvs, it was like getting slapped in the face and being told to accept it because this game is gonna be like halo(which I haven't played before). I was also looking forward to the multiplayer, until MC:S came out with its MP(which I haven't been able to play either). All this coupled with the fact that gameloft, being the big awsome company it is, never does content updates to its games, which are kinda pricey at 4.99 and 5.99. I'm not doing this to flame gameloft, who do put out good games, but am I alone in saying that I'm not as hyped about this game as everyone else here seems to be?
LoL, that purpose would be that their mutiplayer is a piece of crap and they are either valiantly revising it and resubmitting it soon, or they are scraping mutiplayer and resubmitted it already.
true, but i am leaving for an internet free zone in a week and i won't be back for a month... so i really want this game NOW
The single player videos I saw did look great, but there are only ten levels. Without online multiplayer I would be very much on the fence about buying this. On the other hand, I bought MC:S and now the long awaited multiplayer update doesn't even work because I have an apple airport extreme , but I don't regret buying the game.
i doubt gameloft is scrapping MP, obviously Modern Combat is being used as a test, and getting owned... Remember: Eliminate was released in Canada only for like a week.. im sure they were almost as likely to have these problems, except UPNP thats just ghey
They've probably submitted it and are holding it until Christmas, probably tweaking updates in the mean-time. If not, that would be foolish assuming they think they can bypass the deadline and still shoot for Christmas, which is the target release date they said they were aiming for, plus or minus. Also, Game Reaper's screen was on the front page, plus that weapon was named the Plasma Cannon (6 weapons, Handgun, Shotgun, Assault Rifle, Sniper Rifle, Rocket Launcher, and Plasma Cannon, would be pointless to have two rocket type weapons in a game with only 6.) The Boss has already been announced to look somewhat like a spider. Hooray, Captain Obvious to the rescue!
I played Eliminate while it was still in Canada (I actually downloaded it the first day it came out) and I had no problems playing it. It was bug free and pretty much perfect besides the balancing issues everyone knows about, but those hadn't surfaced yet. The point is that Eliminate was ready upon release, even while it was being tested in Canada. What ngmoco did was simply a responsible way to double check themselves even though their game was already a finished working product. MC: S with multiplayer is not. Don't get me wrong, I really wanted MC: S to work and I want Nova to work. I am simply disappointed in MC: S's bugginess.
bugginess? you mean non-functionality? about 99 percent of the players don't even have a compatible wifi device!!! the update is a joke, and why i will only buy NOVA for the campaign(which i think will be awesome).
Aww, you spoiled it. Regarding the MC update, I have played three matches in a row without any problems, so perhaps that's a good sign.
but do you have an airport extreme? because it seems to be impossible to play if u have one of those because they don't use UPNP.
EDIT: HERE'S WHY WE CAN'T USE IT WELL!!! Gameloft@UndeadZed1 This build of @Modern_Combat multiplayer update is a BETA. We're working on it and a new update will be coming soon. Visit here: http://twitter.com/gameloft
