Yep, we're lucky. When the iPhone 3G got released, it was out first in New Zealand, and everyone flocked here to be the first to get one. Some people even slept outside the Vodafone stores. The iPhone isn't locked down here, you see, although it is subsidised only by Vodafone.
Remember Avatar yesterday? They got it a few hours than us at least, but not a day before. So yeah, you have a point. Good, make them wait like the rest of us!
you're right. but imma be the one who will be driven in a 64 impala down the sunset, playing nova and screaming "California Looove!"
Me 2! Im gona make a australian account! But it should come out for U.S. Tomorrow cuz tomorrow is my birthday
I need to add my two cents about this whole "what if the multi player doesn't work" thing: If this happened it would be a major problem. Multiplayer is a major selling point of this game even if it isn't for you and as a part of a premium game it should work for nearly everybody. I even think that the whole argument that the MC:S multiplayer fiasco was justified because the game didn't originally sell with it. I don't know about you, but when I bought the game there was a promise of the multiplayer update in the game description and in everything I read about the game. This was a large part of why I bought it. I would not of bought the game if I knew that after I beat it I would be unable to gain any more satisfaction out of it (I don't play through games twice). I was nervous about the amount of time I would spend with the game especially when I heard of the somewhat short campaign mode. The promise of multiplayer is what made me bite the bullet. Once it FINALLY came out (I feel it should not of been advertised as having multiplayer in a future update while gameloft was so far away from releasing the update) I was so excited that I could finally play the game again. When I found out I couldn't I was just plain angery. I had been promised muliplayer, not promised multiplayer if I owned a wireless router that supported UPnP. I own an airport extreme so I was unable to play the multiplayer after the multiplayer update was released and even after the multiplayer fix was released. They are aware of the issue; I sent them an email. They have failed to deliver on their promise of multiplayer to me and everyone else who uses wireless routers that only have NAT, and we all paid good money to play online. Another thing that people don't realize is that THE GAME IS STILL BEING SOLD RIGHT NOW. People are buying it not as a game that will have a nice update later on that will allow it to support multiplayer, but as a game that features multiplayer! The argument that it is being advertised as a beta doesn't hold because I just read the entire description of the game and the word beta is nowhere to be seen. Thus, gameloft is already doing what you are all cringing at the possibility of: selling a game featuring multiplayer that flat out doesn't work. It is not buggy, it is not laggy, IT DOESN"T WORK. That being said, one star reviews are not warranted if NOVA multiplayer doesn't work. Give credit where credit is due; gameloft has made visually fantastic game that pushes the limits of the iPhone and probably has a great campaign mode. On the other hand, it is unacceptable to sell a game where one of the TWO key functions, multiplayer, doesn't work. It is not a minor part of the game, it is at least HALF of the game depending on if you are considering the two modes of player or how much time you will spend with the respective modes. Therefore, a game with an unusable multiplayer deserves 2-3 stars depending on how much you play multiplayer. A good half of the game is there and it will probably, hopefully, be fantastic, but selling a multiplayer game in which the multiplayer is both a main selling point and unusable is not acceptable, especially from a major game developer. Here is a good analogy: If you bought a washer and dryer set and the dryer didn't work wouldn't you be angry and demand a refund or repair? But then someone comes up to you and says, "well the washer works fine and you don't really need the dryer; it is just a nice add on. I am sure it works for some people who order the set. Hang dry your clothes instead and stop complaining." Do you just think, "I guess I don't really need it so it is no big deal that it doesn't work," or are you still mad that you didn't get what you paid for. It is not the amount that you paid that matters, it is the fact that you paid for something that you weren't given. Half of the money you spent was buying nothing but hopes to be dashed and promises to turn out false. How does this deserve a four star rating, comprable to a B in school? Have you ever gotten a B for doing half of your work incorrectly? Sure, you are given credit for the work that is done right, you are not given a 20% on the assignment or test that was half wrong, but you are somewhere around a 50%. I consider it in some ways being GENEROUS to extend the same principles to a field in which even more perfection is expected. If gameloft desires to sell some of the most expensive games on the platform, then they should make sure that they work. The only reason I feel that one star reviews are not appropriate is that reviews are meant to communicate the overall quality of the game, and if half the game works and is great, then half of the stars will be granted. I do feel as if gameloft has cheated its customers with its products and should be forced to pay for it in some way so that it wont happen again, but giving false, shallow impressions of the game in a place people will look to consider the value of the game is not the way to do this. There is probably nothing that can properly be done to chastise gameloft for this underdeveloped deliver of a promise that drove sales especially when gameloft keeps creating fantastic games for the iPhone. I just hope gameloft has decided to avoid such mistakes as releasing an underdeveloped MC:S multiplayer and that this fiasco is not repeated on NOVA. Wow, I hope someone reads al of this. It was nice to vent, but... wow I wrote a lot
The cake is a lie! Haha but I agree with you here. If I bought Uncharted 2 and the Multiplayer didn't work, I'd be pretty pissed, but with NOVA, I'd just rate it... 3 or 4 stars (depending on the single player aspect) play single player completely, then either just kill my friend over bluetoother in NOVA or play Eliminate until it's fixed. Pretty simple solution! Hey, one thing I'm wondering though... How come the Bluetooth can only handle 2 people at a time? I'd think Gameloft could get that to work with more people...
they would be able to. i seen a ad on tv about a soccer game or somethin that took 3 people to play over bluetooth. when i get all my games ill also rate it upon singleplayer, but because its advertised as coming with multiplayer, if it doesnt work ill just automattically knock off a star. if that.
Wait, it's out in Afghanistan and China! Good thing I have my handy dandy *Pulls out of pocket* Credit card that works using Yuan! "To the Chinese App store!" lol. That's the ad I was thinking about too! Hmm... I want an explanation now. Haha but that's what I'll do to NOVA too. I'll knock it down from 5 stars to 4 until they fix it. Pretty simple solution.
