http://www.mcvuk.com/news/44235/Next-COD-gets-premium-online-features Translation: These suckers will buy anything.
yeah haha, but this has me worried http://gamerfront.net/2011/05/modern-warfare-3-is-coming-details-arriving-in-june/8516
I'm not. I think they will rush it too fast and it will be so terrible against the likes of BF3. Of course several people will buy it, that's just the CoD brand. But it's going to die out quick. BF3 however I have a feeling is going to shock everyone and will last quite a while. At least that's my hoping. I sure as shit am done with CoD for a while. BRING ON BF3!!!!
To be fair they can do this because youll have tonnes of idiots wholl still buy it. Me of course Ill be with the smart people who are buying BF3. I cant wait
I love Battlefield as much as the next guy, and I I dislike the CoD franchise quite a bit. But I think we should keep in mind that while we all rag on it endlessly, it is really the game that introduced addictive FPS online gaming. Battlefield does it better now of course, but CoD really set the standard for all proceeding shooters. That it now bores us is beyond the point-it is a well crafted, solid multiplayer shooter, from which spawned a whole genre of gaming.
LOL... So you're saying I have to pay $50-60, PLUS an additional (price tag) for "premium" content that was supposed to be included in the first place?!
Real gamers prefer Battlefield anyway. COD is more for lazy gamers. As far as premium content, Battlefield Bad Comany 2 utilized a premium content service. It's something being done by a lot of companies to combat pre-used game sales. Gamestop making a killing off of selling pre-used games, while the developers get nothing.
I told my friend to play BFBC2 (he's one of those CoD noobs) and he tried bashing bullet drop. He said it wasn't realistic, which I have no idea what was going on inside his head. He also asked why people were sniping him when he tried camping. After that, I didn't want him to play anymore. So yeah, getting BF3 when it comes out. Long live DICE's masterpiece.
May I ask why real gamers prefer Battlefield? I consider myself a hardcore gamer, I even want a job in it, and I like COD just as much as Battlefield.
What the hell does that mean? What exactly is a "real gamer?" Also, why is Call of Duty for lazy gamers? That doesn't make any sense to me.
I don't think it's the same thing, a ton of games use online activation now, that's not even a worthy news story. This premium service sounds more like a monthly payment thing. I took "lazy gamers" to mean people who know jack sh*t about games except what they see on TV ads or other people's Facebook statuses. They follow the hype, so the console game they see most is Call of Duty and the iOS game they see most is Angry Birds. They then translate this over-exposure into a sign of quality and totally fail to do the research on the dozens of other fantastic (and often better) games available. That's my version of it anyway, he might have meant something else...
Angry Birds sucks...I hate it immensely. But as a COD only player so far, I really want to try out battlefield 3. It looks good, but as long as the realism of massive firefight is there I may make a permanent switch.
It's there even in BF2 which I suspect has slightly smaller maps. I was blown away the first time my team completed an objective and an entire new section of map just opened up and we all marched down the road into a new area.
Me too! I'll never forget that. I first played it and I was like "Well this is big, but not as big as I was expecting.". Then 4 sections down the map my mind = blown.
