made the switch GC- MarkyMarkTurak if you want to see me on the boards, not so great at the game though :]
I did one event where I started in TA (would have made top 30 I think too), but then decided to switch to TA1 and posted an even higher score there. Then when time ran out, I got nothing, it's like I never played at all. Bottom line: arena is bugged and while I'd consider jumping to TA2, it would probably mess me up again, so in TA1 I stay.
update 1.01 live. Mostly debug it seems. Small tweak for the arena, with the same frontrunner for everyone I guess.
Just noticed this in the App Store. I wonder if updating before the arena event ends is a safe bet or not. Hmm...
I wouldn't risk it but I would hope the current event is safe. I wonder though if you pass on te update will you not be able to play the arena or if you still can will you have the advantage of picking a leader while upgraders are stuck with whomever the current fixed leader is? Either way, this does sound like a bit of balancing on the arena since everyone could be on the same level playing field. That is a step forward, but not enough to keep me interested.
Gah! I'm so close to getting Hydra upgraded. I can't wait to work on Arcane next. As grindy as this game is, it's pretty fun still. But seriously, if they don't expand this to have actual quests (y'know, like in the title?), I will be severely let down. But I have faith. NB is notorious for long-term support. I just hope the support equals worthwhile content expansion, and not just whatever would be disappointing, like arena tweaks.
I'm confident I can beat Depths 2 now. I came pretty close my first try. I keep thinking they could add back in some of that stuff from earlier in the design process and call it "Nimble Quest Quest"
so the new update makes it so everyone has the same front runner for the arena. annnnd if you don't have them unlocked, you can't play in the arena. I'm terrible at this game, but I like to at least try to compete and now I can't even do that.
Actually this might level the playing field a bit. When it's a more obscure character, not many people will have a three star. Also, it could be me but it seems like it's harder now. I used ember before but was able to get double of what I'm reaching now. If they did that's fine. I still wish they would ramp-up the beginning faster. It takes forever just to get 30 kills and then ramps up quickly.
I really don't like the new ads for tokens system. Buffering takes forever and I had 2 fail and I couldn't get those tokens. Total fail!
I don't actually see how the update "levels the playing field". Choosing the hero in the lead is part of each individual's strategy. This just seems like it will make it more luck-based (everyone starts with the same hero, it's now a matter of who you manage to pick up during a session). But it's not like Arena wasn't luck-based anyway. This might make it more interesting nonetheless...
