Yeah, that's the conclusion I've drawn, too. Before this thread, I never would've considered it, but after reading it I'm a lot more intrigued by the idea. I don't like the idea of buying a system and then turning off the feature that makes it unique, but once the game library starts getting Mario Kart, a Mario adventure, Donkey Kong, Kirby, etc...I think that's when I'll get off the fence.
Score! I've been playing a lot of SSFIV, and it's excellent. I played the 360 version for well over 100 hours maybe, and I can pull off almost effortlessly all the moves from guys like Ken. It looks gorgeous, and the 3D adds a nice touch of depth. The game plays great with the circle pad. If anyone wants to play online, post your system friend code.
Just bought SF4 so you can add me, i'll be online in few hours. My code is 4940-5454-2954, post your code too since we will need to enter it too.
I bought two titles so far ( Ghost recon and SF4 ) and I'm contemplating on a 3rd title, any reommendations? Also I have to say that I hardly opened any games on my Iphone4 after I got my 3ds.
I've been playin a ton of pilot wings, but I've always enjoyed the series. Sure it's easy. But to get perfect on every level takes some serious skillz. Also the soccer game has been great, but I'm really excited to see how FIFA does when it comes. pES is a little short on features IMO.
Street Fighter's online mode is awesome! It work's better than I expect, I haven't notice any latency at all.
SF is a really fantastic game. I'm now to the point where the 3D is like second nature, and it looks gorgeous. I played 25 consecutive, smooth as butter online matches and won all. Really loving this game, and another reason why "smartphone gaming" will never approach to delivering the same amount of depth, content and polish a true handheld can deliver. Loving it. For those who are also playing, here's my Friend Code: 3050 7601 4012
So have any of you guys had the headaches and blurred vision they've featured heavily in the news today? Im guessing it's just sensationalism on the part of journalists to grab a story, like all the Wii injuries when that launched but thought i'd get some opinions from people that have actually played with the system a lot rather than picked it up for 5 minutes before having to take an aspirin.
I've suffered from severe vomit, nausea and painful headaches. Nah, from what I played of SFIV (8 hours so far), I'm already accustomed to the effect and can see it without any problem, even when playing for extended periods of time.
Yeah, I knew that story was rubbish as soon as I saw that it came from The Sun. Everyone over here knows not to believe anything you read in that publication, I mean their 'source' for the 'thousands returned' information was some random guy who posted a comment on some random internet forum who claimed he'd spoke to some guy who worked in a videogame shop... lame! As a counter argument: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/nintendo/8429787/Nintendo-denies-claim-of-thousands-made-ill-by-3DS.html Personally, I've been playing my 3DS constantly since launch day with the 3D on 100% for SSFIV3D, PES 11 and Lego Star Wars 3 and at about 75% for Pilotwings and I can honestly say that I haven't experienced any discomfort at all. I know the 3D affects people's eyes differently but it's been fine with me.
It was featured on Radio 1's Newsbeat as well but i swear they get all their story's from reading the daily papers! Im still on the fence about getting one, if only they'd launched with a Zelda or Mario title i'd have probably bought one at launch!
Most games I have to play with the 3D slider around 60-70%, if I turn it allthe way up I have a harder time adjusting to it and can get a headache. Once you find your comfortable setting, it's rely quite amazing and adds a whole lot more to the game then you would realize. PESoccer utilizes it quite nicely..
Just to tempt you a little bit, Zelda Link's Awakening DX is coming out next month and Ocarina of Time in June. Particularly I couldn't be more excited about those releases since I never played LA's and haven't played Ocarina in like 7 years.
Never believe the sun. And it takes a bit to get used to, i had slight discomfort initially but after 2 or so days i got used to it and it's completely fine now. This may vary between each person though
Links awakening as in the original gameboy and gameboy color game? That's cool and all but I finished that many times way back when, Ocarina of Time is a more enticing prospect as at least that has totally revamped 3D graphics but again I completed it a few times along with Master Quest which was given away free with Windwaker on Gamecube. What I really want is a new title for the series, not just rehashes of past albeit brilliant games (especially as I have the original N64 Ocarina of Time cartridge and a jap N64 in the cupboard and the aforementioned Windwaker with Master Quest and a Wii to play them on). Perhaps I'm just being a bit fussy though? I don't know? Nothing about the 3DS has so far grabbed my attention to the point where I simply must buy one, of all the games that have been released so far only Street fighter holds any interest for me, and that I already own on multiple systems so again I'm put off. Hopefully I'll change my mind when I read the no doubt glowing reviews of Zelda, Mariokart and other well established franchises, until that point the money will stay firmly in my wallet.
