Mario Kart is no mere 'racing game'!

You should check out Kingdom Hearts 3D and Resident Evil: Revelations as well. IMO, two of the best games on the system. Virtue's Last Reward is a great game as well, but it's hard for me to recommend the 3DS version with its severe game breaking bug.

You're right, it really isn't racing at all. It's just a game of chance with racing elements- game breaking weapons FTW. Seriously though, MK7 sucks compared to MK DS- which is part of the reason it is no longer a part of my collection (got bored of it, Best Buy was offering like $20 for it, and Skyrim was on sale there for $35- it was really a no-brainer).

Wow I didn't know the Vitual Console is available on the 3DS.
And there are some good independent games too.

Wonder if it's "too late" to buy a 3DS XL now though?
Nintendo's next portable console will surely have two sticks and I think it will be available in 2014.

Just buy it. I honestly don't think that there will be a new one anytime soon based on how good they're doing right now. Adding a second stick would divide the "new" 3ds owners from the "old" (original and XL). I know that there is an attachment for the original, but its hard to get (from what I hear), and developers would just have to make a one stick setting and a two stick setting unless they wanted to lose all the potential buyers that only have one stick

  12. Target will have all 3DS XLs on sale for $160 next week, including this awesome new Pikachu 3DS XL:

Also, if you register your new 3DS XL and either Pokémon Mystery Dungeon or Luigi's Mansion on Club Nintendo by 4/30, you can get one more game digitally for free: http://club2.nintendo.com/3ds-xl-promo/

If you're in the US, Target is having a sale on 3DS XLs next week- $160 for any model (Pikachu XL releases that week too).

Target has a buy two games get one free (not just 3ds). I'm thinking I'll get Lego City (Wii U) and either Monster Hunter (3DS) and another 3ds game. Then I'll return the third game once Luigi's Mansion is out and get that. All three games I was planning on getting, and now it'll be 40 bucks cheaper :)

  16. Theres also the Nintendo deal where you register Luigi's Mansion or Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, you get a free game out of a selected range

    That's buy 2 games, get 2 free

The way Target does it is split the value between all three games, so you won't be able to do a direct exchange. Here's how it would work: $60 + $40 + $40 - $40 = $100. $100 / 3 = $33. So when you return any of the games individually, you'll get $33 back, and you'll have to pay $7 + remaining tax to exchange for Luigi's Mansion. Not really too big of an issue though- you're still getting a good deal.

The free game isn't actually free. They do it this way, so that if you return the two games you bought, you don't get to keep the third for free.

It’s time to get the gf another 3DS game. Luigi’s Mansion 2 looks amazing. Great reviews from everywhere. She’s played the hell out of the other 3DS Mario titles.

Only if you buy a 3DS XL with it ):

I know. You can return a game (unopened) without a receipt (as long as you haven't returned over $70 worth throughout the year). Since they don't have the receipt, they won't be able to know if I bought it with the B2G1 deal, getting me $40 instead $27
