Sounds like the Diablo 3 nonsense all over again.

I need a bit of help in the way of suggestions. I'm sure some of you may be aware of Nintendo's 'So Many Games' promotion, where if you purchase three of the selected eight games and register them with Club Nintendo, you can download a fourth of your choice for free. The games included in the promotion are:

    •Luigi's Mansion 2
•Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate
    •Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
    •Fire Emblem: Awakening
•LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins
•Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity
    •Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
    •Animal Crossing: New Leaf

I already had Castlevania and Luigi's Mansion 2 and I've just purchased Donkey Kong Country Returns which means I can download a fourth game for free but I'm stuck on which to choose.

I've ruled out Animal Crossing (it's not even out yet) because I'm not into those 'life simulator' kind of games. I'm also not a Pokemon fan and I've got Lego City Undercover on my Wii U so I don't want what most reviewers have referred to as a significantly inferior portable version. This then narrows it down to Monster Hunter and Fire Emblem. The problem is, I'm not a big fan of these either! Admittedly, I've only played the demo of both but I found Monster Hunter hard as nuts (and a little repetitive) and I'm really not into RTS style RPG's which is what Fire Emblem seems to fall into. I obviously want to download one seen as how it's free (it'd be a waste not to) but I'm so undecided.

Lego city isn't the same game on the 3ds as on the wii u, its a prequel to the wii u game. But if you want a recommendation, I would say Fire Emblem.

Yeah, I know it's a prequel, but most people have said that if you've got the Wii U game then just stick to that. Is Monster Hunter a pointless game to play solo? I seemed to get my arse kicked a lot on the demo (even on the Wii U demo too) and the easier of the two monsters on the demo (the giant snow rat thing) took AGES to die when I finally did beat it. Is this because it's really meant to be played as a multiplayer game?

    I'd go with Fire Emblem.

It isn't fair... Why does Europe always get the nice stuff (from Nintendo anyway). I mean seriously, you guys get all sorts of cool pre-order bonuses, while in the US there normally isn't one (or it's like a lame poster or something). You guys also get sweet promotions like this.

So it looks like it there's finally a 3DS flash cart :(. knew it was only a matter of time. Hopefully Nintendo blocks it ASAP. We really don't need publishers to shy away from the platform like they did with the DS and PSP towards the second half of their lives.

Seriously, a flash cart would release right before the first actual Pokemon game (the most pirated DS games IIRC).

I got Animal Crossing yesterday. It's great! And it looks like now we have 3 of the games in that promotion. So I just register them on club nintendo and I get to download one of the others? Or is there another step that needs to be done?

EDIT: Ok, I can't find that on nintendo.com. Is that just a UK promotion? I did find it there.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is making me want me own 3DS (preferably XL) so bad! I'm playing on my kids' 3DS. Plus the keyboard is so tiny on the regular 3DS. Funny how one game can make you desire a device so much. For one thing then I'd feel free to add more friends. As it is I have to consider that they'd then be "friends" with my kids.

I'm not one to download full games but I decided that Animal Crossing is a good one to always have on your device and boy is it an awesome game!! I enjoyed my first day in my town and looking forward to unlocking more. Wish I knew people that I could visit towns and stuff with that would be awesome. The 3DS is one great system and the games are incredible and the lineup continues to be very strong.

    It's official, I will buy a 3DS!
I was waiting for Nintendo's next portable console because I was pretty sure they will release it next year. Now that they said Smash Bros will be available in 2014, maybe they won't release the next portable next year. And even if they do so I don't mind anymore because some good 3DS games are coming and I want to play indie and virtual console games.

I have two questions: how much space do virtual console and eShop games take and is the 4GB SD card that is included in the 3DS XL box good enough?

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is crack. I have the island opened up today, but won't get a chance to visit until tonight. I wish I had the day off!

We are working on paying for a new bridge. Our town really needs another bridge closer to the shore. I probably should have tried creating towns a few times until I got a more ideal one, but once we get the 2nd bridge it will be a lot better.

Prior to getting AC:NL I had no interest in the Animal Crossing XL. Now, of course, I wish I'd ordered one. LOL. Or better two: one to keep and one to sell!

Having picked up $150 bucks for my birthday, I'm considering getting my own 3DS. I'd much rather have an XL, but $150 isn't quite enough for that. I suppose I'll hold out for a sale of some sort as I'd really prefer an XL. Or maybe pick up a good condition used one from cowboom or amazon warehouse deals if one ever shows up there.

I play it, but it's my kids' 3DS so I am not going to add anyone but close friends. Too bad there aren't accounts on a 3DS. :(

Anyone see the SMT IV and FE:A deal on Club Nintendo? I think its only for North America, but if you register both, you get $30 on the eShop.
