I was replying to that, I guess I just forgot to hit the quote button. Quoting a post made by MJ on Get Satisfaction: Because of this, I'm assuming it'll be released some time in the next week and a half, possibly a bit more.
They just said on the Twitter that it'll be submitted in the next couple of days, so I'm hoping that stays true - they still have time to post news while the game is waiting to get approved
I'm pretty sure that means it'll be submitted in the next few days. I heard somewhere that ngmoco gets instant approval, but I'm not sure if that's true.
Yeah, I remember when Apple released Rolando 2 (Apple loves ngmoco) too early and ngmoco were pissed off because it wasn't released when they wanted it to be released. Apple's app approval/release system is totally nuts. Let's just hope for another freaky friday, with another big batch of games to be released.
No, they're officially being funded, in part, by a venture capitalist firm that is supported in a small capacity (but not owned) by Apple. Unless I'm mistaken, they have to play by the same rules as everyone else.
It was released a day early, then quickly taken off the app store and then released a day late. Apple really screwed up on that one.
from ngmoco's twitter: Neil: Ngmoco Plus enabled catalog coming soon, will be submitting Eliminate & TouchPets w/Plus in the nxt few days...thanks 4 your patience
Yeah, thats what I meant, released to Apple. We've still got a few weeks left to wait before the game is out.
Oh ok. It's just that there's a lot of impatient people that could misinterpret that as actually being released.
To be honest, I don't think that ngmoco has to wait for Apple approval at all. All they have to do is submit it, then write a message to their representative with the Subject: "Hey Bro, it's finally done!". The whole team will be pleased to have the opportunity given to them by Apple to testplay it for a couple of hours in order to make sure there are no major bugs. And half a day later it's online! I've heard that large studios get such a representative and honestly it's not just a small game and ngmoco needs that money now and not in 10 days, so does Apple. So when those two games are out in say 3 days...They're definitely out! I've also found some interesting stuff on Chris Plummer the producer of Eliminate here: http://plusplus.com/news/4-Meet-ngmocos-Chris-Plummer
Good to know it's going to be submitted that soon. ELIMINATE looks very well put together as far as I can see.
I hope so! It would be a shame to see the game not do well because of a lack of exposure. Probably not 99¢, but $2 or $3 wouldn't surprise me all that much.
I think the pricing will reflect the current server infrastructure. If they can host a large number of games already, then it will go for sale under $4 in order to land higher in the App Store rankings as it's the best and cheapest advertisement. However, if they want to check out the water they will start at something like $10. I'm not sure of their plans but it looks like their are hoping to bank on energy. Which could go for 1-2$. If they count on people buying energy worth of 4$ in a month on average, then a very low entry price will be likely. But I'm just too sure that they will not have any entry price below $5 as it just wouldn't make much sense in the beginning. They can lower the price anytime but most companies lowering the price keep it there. Right now they fear two things the most I guess: It crashing right on start up or in game. Or slow gameplay (see Real Soccer 2010) due to their servers being too overcrowded. But I still hope to get a release date today, since I strongly believe that ngmoco can ask Apple for a release date and that they have priority over other Apps.
