It was, they must have swapped the icon at some point. I must admit, I don't like the current icon much at all. It isn't as bad as Word Fu's, but I was hoping for something better. Still, the game is what really matters.

 

I don't want to start another thread about special treatment of large companies in the AppStore approval process but it's quite funny that FIFA 10 was submitted to apple on september 30th and got approved until it's global SCHEDUELED date October 2nd. Plus they annonced the date on twitter last week before submissen. Thought it's nice to know. Ofcourse ea and ngmoco won't tell but it's the way it is.

 

The reason they're nt telling is probably because they don't want another accident on the release date.

@CaseyLay yes i know plus is awesome, but the little icon isnt.. it doesnt look half bad but it gets in the way..

 

I think that Apple approves apps that gonna make their devices look better before other apps. For example, a really high quality game by EA Games, the monster of the game industry, will get approved way before just another app by just another unknown company.

 

Ehh... no. The 'Release Date' does not coincide with the date of submission.

 

Don't know if you guys are following ngmoco on Twitter but they've been tweeting a lot lately. Here's an update for those who aren't in the "know"

Eliminate AND Touch Pets are in final RC (Release Candidate) proceedings. Eliminate just finished its first RC, and Touch Pets is on its third. Ngmoco stated they usually go through 3-5 RCs before finally submitting.

Eliminate hasn't been submitted yet. We're testing our first release candidate right now. Expect a few revisions before final!

It won't take long. Another 2 release candidates will take them only a week. It's only small changes.

 

And Touch Pets is already on its third RC (and is undoubtedly a less intense SC). So maybe that'll come out sooner to tide us over while we wait for them to make Eliminate absolutely perfect

What discourages me a little bit is that even once Eliminate is out, the average consumer still won't really grasp the hard work they put into making an online FPS with matchmaking work on the iPhone.

 

So I'm guesing they will change the graphics again, change the gameplay, limit the online MP to 1 v 1 and change the name a couple times and then release it in January?

 

You play COD4 too much ... No, instead of ranks it will have levels. This isn't a military game

 

Ranks in some sense. I'm sure some of the skins are going to cost a lot of credits for those "elite" players

The levels are like your rank. We have variations of the Arsenal Megacorp logo ranging from a single dash to multiple stars. It's kinda like ranks/military stripes.
