Can't answer the last question since I updated a while ago but, like you, I can only add new "friends" for a limited time before they get erased. Frustrating because I don't always write down the name of the person who was kind enough to "gift" me although I'd like to add them as neighbors. I know that Ian & David are working on this & they are amazingly responsive to user problems.
Long day, but a very productive one. Got alot done at work and finished the Mixtus. On to the Calyx, not the prettiest frog but bettet than the Lanterna.
