My only issue with crime types is their sometimes propensity to get too graphic. That is I dint like gore or horror. I got enough nightmare of my own that I don't like to add subscript that will make for sleepless nights. Do I still can't decide. I am thinking maybe gone baby gone by ahern but it might be to smarmy for me. Not in straight romances but if the mvie did it justice then it might be worth risking saccharin. Maybe I get back to pattersons fang series (can't recall the name) but it had more gore than I'd prefer but I hate leaving a book undone and Patterson does a fine job of making you like the little buggers. Of course I also have some nonfiction I could finish up: Albom's have a little faith or Seam Payton's Home Team. Decision are much like patience that I have in very short supply. Hopefully I'll find something that holds my interest soon I hate being without a story. Geez I think I'm losing my marbles. I was thinking blueberry nights not gone baby gone which I already read. But maybe I'll do another ahern. I don't think I have any Nora jones. I will have to fix that.
Going to be giving away some of my frogs that I don't need. If you would like something message me and I'll let you know if that frog is up for grabs
I think I'm really confused as there aren't any frogs or sets at or above level 20. I thought 16 was the highest level frog. Also the Steve berry cotton Malone novels aren't gory. They are more like the DaVinci code but the main character is an ex-military/government guy instead of a professor. The last book I couldn't put down was James Rollins "Alter of Eden." Not gory, not a who-dun-it but definitely thrilling.
I like thrillers but my favorite author is Stephen King - somehow his writing paints pictures in my mind, the words he uses are so spot on for me. I also like the fact that he creates "what if?" almost sci-fi scenarios (as in The Stand or the Langoliers in Four Past Midnight) or moral challenges & their consequences (as in Needful Things). Have had his latest, Full Dark, No Stars (sounds like this weeks set!) on my shelf for a while now because PF is eating up what free time I actually have. Re: PF, my mailbox is full to overflowing with gifts (thanks most recently Inky & llurgyme) so you guys need to be less generous with me this week! I'd like to begin another Request (which I haven't yet received) but prefer to save my stamps for gifting, not for getting what I want sooner. Meanwhile, I will have a Purple Viola Insero & a Purple Carota Insero ready to gift in a day in a half. Any collectors out there?
Thank you to Liz, llurgy and skeeter for the wonderful gifts today. As always they are greatly appreciated and enjoyed. Wishing all a good evening (my time).
Hi Errant, how are you doing ? I am finally back to the land of froggies. Work is still busy but at least I have my Sundays back.
Another huge Stephen King fan here, but I definitely wouldn't go there if you want something 'not gory'. You never know when he's gonna twist the knife. I've also had Full Dark, No Stars waiting for me for a while now, but that's partly because of PF, and partly because I am reading Edward Rutherfurd's New York, and also recently started re-reading The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan in e-book. By the time I've gone through the lot, the last book should be out! Re: the frogs, another huge thank you to all my trading buddies; I have received some very cool frogs again recently. If I can help with anything, let me know!
I'm glad you've got your Sunday's back things are good here, but pretty busy, also. Still plugging along with the froggies, but not as much as before.
Looking for Insero Hello! I am new! hi! I am searching for a kind soul who is willing to share an Inserno frog, as I have not been able to find one. I'm always willing to fill requests as well if I have the frogs. Thanks in advance! id:doritorama
You are right and I am stupid. So what I meant was froglets 7 and up I'll be sending it wanted but below that I'll likely just sell off unless some ask me for them specifically. Right now I'm sending red ludo to umm Izzy I think. I can't remember as I just spun my friends list and the nick was chosen since no pm'd me. Once maroon I'd done purple will be gifted out. Waiting for inseroe to mature then I'll bred maroon and gift red. Ilet me know if someone wants them. I'd prefer to send sets out as I then have to remember less I have the sigma force series by rollins which I haven't read maybe I'll look at that. I Have a couple of perry but I have put them stanza yet. Happy frogging, Shasta
If you can wait till Monday ill send you the red insero set. It might not be that long but I am attempting to wait there ageing and then I have to mature them in pond (my least favourite thing to do).
As Inky correctly stated, the Cotton Malone novels are not gory at all. They are thrillers, very fast paced action. I am actually on the third novel in the series and I can't put it down. Another series to consider for those who like these type of novels are the Mitch Rapp books by Vince Flynn. The latest in this series was just released this year. It's basically about a CIA black ops agent running operations for the President. Very good as well. Personally, I'm not really into non-fiction. I've got enough real life issues, I don't need to read about anymore. I like reading as a way to escape from reality for a while.
