    Missing C-130

    I completed 61 jobs on the last San Francisco mission and only received a C-130 part and some bucks.

    Wasn't the prize a full C-130 plane?

    If Nimblebit is reading, my Gamecenter id is the same as my id here. Thanks.

    Did not know there was way more then load up some planes and fly it to destination 'x' :)

    I have been browsing this section and the strategies google doc for the last 3 hours, fascinating. I immediately joined the #toucharcade flight crew. What is the difference between this and toucharcade1?

    I was flying with Nimblebit with the SF event, got on place 28 with 280 jobs or something. Nimblebit ended 2nd in world list.
    But now I have some questions; do you or your team have to end up on 1st or 2nd spot to earn the prize of the aircraft and do I still have a change on that price since I switched flight crew approximate 30 min the SF event ended?

    Well, I am lvl 16 with 12 planes and 33 airports, airline value is 911.512 with 111m pop served. I started in Australia so i had a nice and easy area to begin with. But I see I have lots to learn and so much more to gain with this game.

    Talk to you later!

    If you are in the flight crew #toucharcade you only win a part because it's the price for the first place. The second to ten crews win a full plane.

    Toucharcade1 is the league of rebels formed by theist active forum members on this site. You'll find most of the people who post here are TA1.

    We're the cool kids basically.

    [Edit] meh, someone was faster then me...I still leave this here ;)

    First prize was a C-130 part. places 2-10 were full planes.
    I guess your flight crew is Toucharcade, that's why you got a part, they were #1.
    Toucharcade1 was 4th, so we got a full plane ;)

    Nimblebit added this strategy a while ago because TA has so much members, they always won and everyone got the "best" prize, their intend is to split up flight crews so there is an actual competition.
    TA1 even got #1 a few events ago, at more crowded events we usually compete with others for the second place where TA members just know they'll win.
    It's much like punishing "winning team joiners" in other online games.

    Toucharcade1 is a crew founded by some of the players here which are active in this forum/thread, everyone is free to join of course.
    TA always won due to the sheer masses of players there, but rarely anybody from them was active in this thread.
    So someone (sorry, I can't remember who^^) created TA1 and invited everyone here to join.
    Reasons for this were:
    - have active players (TA got a bunch of inactive ones)
    - have players which are active in this thread to talk about strategies, compare results and standings etc.
    - have a "small(er)" crew so you can add people in GC and actually see them in the rankings for events to compete with each other
    - have people to trade with since they are active ingame and here

    In short, it's a lot more fun to have a small(ish) crew with (mostly) active players then just join the masses for #1 everytime (see my reply above to see why that isn't even a good idea anymore)

    To your second question, it's about the flight crews rank what prize you get (e.g.: at the last event TA gets a C-130 part for beiing #1 and we get the full plane as #4), all you have to do is to do the minimum jobs required (or more, ofc).
    Sadly, you won't get a prize if you changed your flight crew shortly before the end since your job counter gets reset to zero when you switch :(
    (and I guess you didn't do another 50 jobs in that 30 minutes...)

    I'm right there with you on that thinking. About the only jobs i lose money on are the one from London to Mexico because of the pit stop in ny and the fact that isn't a straight line. Most show like a -33 dollars that is before the bonus. I'll track it tonight and tomorrow and post it.

    After San Francisco, I find myself with way more P Cyclones than I thought I had. I'm normally an M fleet. However I'm wondering whether I should put 8 or 9 M Cyclones back into the hangar and pull out 8 or 9 C Cyclones out of the hangar (well probably more like buy parts & build most of them cuz I'm sure I don't have that many in my hangar LOL). What do you guys think? Should I switch to a P/C fleet?

    Has anyone found out a way to know how many Bux you need to exchange for a certain amount of coins? There must be an easier way than to endlessly click on the Bux Exhange lol

    There is a calculator for that in Faye's signature. It's in the spreadsheet. And it's quite easy to do the math in your head.

    Number of bux being traded/2 + 500 per bux.

    If you did 1000 bux.

    2000 bux is 1500 coins per bux
    3000 bux is 2000 coins per bux.

    There is also a sheet to tell you many many bux you need to get to a certain number of slots.

    One of the other BIG reasons for joining Toicharcade1 - we do LOTS of other FUN things that are outside the game, that add interest and a competitive spirit to our Flight Crew.

    Things like:
    *MORONS
    *MOFO rankings
    *The Kanga Kares Foundation
    and the Google document you found...which we refer to as SUCK.

    For all the acronyms, you'll find a link within the SUCK to Faye's compilation post - a great place to start to figure us all out.

    To participate in any of the previously mentioned activities, you need to be a member of the Toucharcade1 flight crew. Then, add your name to the SUCK, or if you need help, holler! And...then, start adding us as friends on Game Center. It's really FUN when you can SEE who you're up against, cheer on the super-de-doper heros & watch close races...or even ties (you'd have to go back even more pages to find that story).

    Looking forward to having you as a member of the Toicharcade1 flight crew (don't forget the 1). :D

    Decisions...decisions....

    I personally prefer P/C planes. When one is full, it's on its way. No waiting for the other half of the plane to fill up, which is what I've run into in the past and what led me to use more P/C planes.

    For St. Petersburg, I have a mix of planes, now that I have the slots to do so. I'm using P/C Cyclones and Cloudliners as feeder planes. Then I have both P/C and also M Aeroegles as the delivery planes. I have a few M Cyclones that flit around clearing up BUX from Istanbul, Paris and London...I'm using those as swap points for BUX.

    Seems like everyone is asking questions so i'm going to add one of my own. How do I add clickable named links into my signature. I always have to go find a post from other people if I need them but also I can just refer newbies to my sig rather than them having to trawl through the forum if they ask for info

    Thank you for your kind words! I'll certainly add the 1 at my flight crew :)

    Rebels, I like rebels, feels like Star Wars, fighting against the mighty Empire named Toucharcade. :cool:

    It is nice to have a group which communicates with each other instead of a large group lurking on the first prizes.

    So the place of he flight crew counts, well then I finished second, yeey for me! And no, I changed flight crew shortly after the event was over and had a total of 2xx jobs done. But am I eligible to receive the price since I can't buy class 3 planes yet?
    Well it is the next morning and I still don't have that stupid plane... So I guess I changed flight crew a bit too early...

    Great explanation Nalazoo! :) I'll start right after Easter digging through SUCK!

    I like Flysher's BUX/coin strat too, but I am afraid I am a bit low level for that, but it will come.

    Thanks all,

    ELMO

    btw, you can already add me to GC: Elmorator, so I can poke around a bit :p

    All I did was opened a window, long pressedthe bookmark of the google doc page and an option popped up to"copy url". Then went into signature under links on your control panel and pasted that url into a button on there that you click with a little globe. If you still don't get what I'm saying pm me.

    Nimble North

    They're a cunning lot, those NimbleBitians. You can picture them sitting in their cubicles in their offices in Poway, CA, with evil grins permanently pasted on their faces. They are bored out of their wits. (The name Poway comes from the language of the ancient Diegueno Indians. It means 'Utterly Boring Hellhole.') They fill their days sending flocks of faithful from one side to the other in total confusion. At the office it's called 'nimbling them a bit.'

    And that's what happened. We Toucharcadeone-ians were nimbled a bit. In a good way, mind you, because let's face it, we were given a C-130 each while our less clever Tourcharcadezeroian rivals were not.

    But it did have an impact on gameplay. The grizzled veterans of TA1 initially held back their big fleets in fear of becoming number 1 and getting stuck with just the part. This gave just enough room for those quick enough to grab their chances and take the lead from the Usual Suspects.

    And who were these Heroes of the Hour?

    People, meet North and Lynsie. Sturdy, taciturn North, who leads a quiet life these days, on a farm slightly north of the sleepy little village of TA1ville, rode back into town and grabbed the win. He was followed suit by the faithful and steady-as-a-rock Lynsie, who saw her chances to pick up 18 points and rise in the ranks of Silver Yokers. Ktc24 too made a strong showing, grabbing 4th.

    This left Gus and Penguin in 3rd and 5th, unusual places for them. They are now licking their wounds and will be plotting a comeback once they're finished drooling all over their shiny new C-130s.

    Further down, 'Zoo made a good showing as usual, grabbing 6th. Sheriff Vic too saw his chance to fill the gap at the top and made 7th, grabbing a strategic 6 points. Spineth took 8th. Faye, who was seriously set back by a little domestic mishap (her little one resetting the crew name and losing an untold number of jobs), ended up scrambling for points and made 9th by the skin of her teeth. And Ump took the last point in 10th.

    Were did this leave TA1? Firmly in fourth position, so everyone qualified for a full Hercules. The brothers and sisters at TA, on the other hand, never got the memo. They happily kept on bringing in job after job, taking first by a country mile and everyone went home with a single C-130 part. This is why many of us live in TA1ville, folks!

    Next one up, the much awaited 5th Silver Yoke rankings:

    1st: Gus, 84 1/3 (1st, 69 1/3);
    2nd:penguin, 62 1/3 (2nd, 52 1/3);
    3rd: Nalazoo, 41 1/3 (4th, 33 1/3);
    4th: Faye, 40 (3rd, 38);
    5th: North, 39 (7th, 14);
    6th: Spineth, 30 (5t, 26);
    7th: Lynsie, 27 (11th, 9);
    8th: ktc24, 24 (9th, 12);
    9th: Snowbird, 22 (6th, 22);
    10th: Yitzhak, 12 (8th, 12).

    We would call this the Three Days That Shook the Yoke! Nalazoo beats Faye to the Top Three. Faye, this is what happens during one moment of mishap. Let this be a lesson. A Champion's focus can never waver.

    Right behind Faye, North looms large. Welcome back, North, we're looking forward to the next 5 races! And Faye, don't despair. It's your poster sitting on the wall of our newspaper offices and we're right behind you!

    Spineth drops a place due to North muscling himself in; Lynsie climbs four places and hits the Top Ten in 7th, with ktc24 and Snowbird right behind her They both drop, to 8th and 9th respectively. Yitz takes 10th, at a small distance.

    Breathing down Yitz's neck is Ump in 11th. Vic's 6 newly gained points put him in 12th place.

    The Silver Yoke has never been more exciting, with new contenders crowding the area around the podium!

    On to the Second Golden Sequoia:

    1st: Gus, 270 1/3 (1st, 255 1/3);
    2nd: Penguin, 157 1/3 (3rd, 147 1/3);
    3rd: Faye, 150 (2nd, 136);
    4th: Nalazoo, 141 1/3 (4th, 133 1/3);
    5th: Lynsie, 80 (6th, 62);
    6th: Tater, 71 (5th, 71)
    7th: Snowbird, 50 (7th, 50);
    8th: Jmac, 48 (8th, 48);
    9th: North, 39 incl. one 1st (18th, 14);
    10th: ktc24, 39 incl. one 4th (14th, 27).

    Penguin takes 2nd from Faye, who drops to 3rd. Well done, Penguin! (And don't let this one pass, Faye!) Something tells me Penguin will not let go of his 2nd place easily, so it'll be interesting to see if Faye manages her way back. All I can say is, keep following those MOFOs, folks!

    'Zoo stays in 4th, Lynsie climbs one place over Tater. Snowbird and Jmac didn't score any points but stay in place; but North swoops in and takes 9th. Ktc24, another strong performer, takes up the rear.

    We lost Spineth and Robo, who are now in 11th and 12th with 36 and 30 points. Castle and Nokitano follow suit with 26 and 25.

    Concorde League of all time:

    1st: Gus, 451 1/3 points (1st, 436 1/3);
    2nd: Faye, 381 (2nd, 379);
    3rd: Ump, 288 (3rd, 287);
    4th: Nokitano, 226 (4th, 226);
    5th: Vic, 216 (5th, 210);
    6th: Penguin, 187 1/3 (6th, 177 1/3);
    7th: Nalazoo, 170 1/3 (7th, 162 1/3);
    8th: Snowbird, 156 (8th, 156);
    9th: North, 135 (12th, 110);
    10th: Castle, 125 (9th, 125).

    On the surface not many changes in this one. But Penguin is steadily creeping up on Vic, with Nalazoo making progress right behind him. Vic's 6 points wil buy him some time, but for how long?

    And then there's North. Ah North, the Prodigal Son, Hero of the Day, Farmer of the North. 9th Place in the Concorde League, where will this all end? Go North! Or actually that should read: go, North!

    Castle drops to 10th, and we lose Copper who's now in 11th with 122, with Coastcat right behind him in 12th with 117.

    And with that, our gaze turns now towards Russia. St Petersburg beckons with a bux only event. Who will bite? Is North on a roll? Watch this space and keep buying the MOFO Statesman & Herald, boys and girls!
