I tried NimbleQuest a couple days ago. I really suck at the game. I was unable to get out of the courtyard or whatever is needed in order to join the Arena & the TA1 guild. So nice to see new and old names pop up! I'm #31 with 5 jobs at the moment LOL Will hop on a plane in a few hours so who knows what will happens ... Sleep, reading, or flinging planes. I'm on vacation, will be spending most of my time sightseeing, and I have no idea what my wifi situation will be next week.
Yeah, it's crazy over there. I've done 50 kills in NQ arena today and I'm like 120th for TA1 lol. I started the guild 3 days ago, and I guess maybe 2 dozens of our original TA1 joined at max. Sadly it's not possible to replicate our nice crew experiment from PP there. Because the crew names are public and appear in the guild rankings. So anybody just checking the top10 guild see TouchArcade1 name and can join hoping to get good awards. In PP, as the crew names don't appear, you can only know of us through the TA forum, so it was possible to keep a real crew. So it's the back to the same problem as lurkers googling "#1 crew pocket planes" Too bad, as NimbleBit tried to counter this problem by limiting good token awards to the first 100 scores only by guild. Anyways, where's you goin' for your holydayz
It took me a while to get to the Arena, too. I made it once I finally spent a few of my gems to upgrade my lead guy.
I just had a thought. What if the prizes for this event are just an April fools joke?it is odd that they didn't give a better prize over Easter....
Leave the forum for a few days and you will have to read through 15 pages That would be wicked, but what might the prize be the most valuable plane is the C130 and they already gave that one away Also i noticed a bit of something while bux sitting, if you got a lot of bux layovers the amount of spawning bux jobs is decreased, am i right or just hallucinating ? 10K bux to go :'(
That would be a new one I haven't heard before. Why don't you test it for us? I would but if you are right I'm not going to test it, clearing up all layovers now!
Hey! No fair putting a sleeping spell on me Arg....slid to 6th place in St. Petersburg event. Have screenshot on my phone. Had company over last night. Then after Church this morning, drove to brother-in-laws for dinner...long day. First time on PP since late yesterday! Looks like I have some catching up to do...LOL. I think Snowbird is getting sleepy
Raiders of the Lost Hermitage Hi All, Back after a rather busy Easter weekend (more about that later), here we go with the long awaited MOFO rankings for the beautiful city of Leningrad, or St Petersburg as it is now called (again), or Petrograd as it was called somewhere in between. Ah, the fickle Russian mind. Yitzhak was clearly inspired by the treasures of the Hermitage, because he couldn't stop hauling audio equipment and aspiring musicians to the Belle of the Baltic. With 7,616 jobs even the Penguin couldn't come closer than 1,000 jobs or so. Well done, Yitz! Penguin in 2nd was closely followed, or relatively closely (250 jobs behind), by Spineth, who completed the podium. North made his presence known again in 4th, at another 700 jobs' distance. No photo finishes in this baby, as we journos say! Snowbird took 5th and Nalazoo 6th, both still comfortably in the 4,000s. Then a looong time nothing. Almost 1,800 jobs behind 'Zoo came a cluster of contenders, all within a couple of hundred jobs. The real fight was for those 7-10th places. Sdo62 took 7th with 2,765 jobs; RoboBoto took 8th with 2,657; Stogie Jerry in 9th with 2,492; and el Carmo Grande took the last point with 2,318 jobs. Couple of big names shining by absentia here. Faye stayed outside the MOFO points by just 26 jobs, or five Aeoeagles, in 11th, followed by Lynsie in 12th. Godfather made an offer that could not be refused in 13th, ktc24 took 14th, Figment 15th. I would be too modest to mention yours truly in 18th, except that mine was also the lowest 4-digit jobs result. So there. Heavy hitters like Gus and Coastcat clearly took a break, scoring in the low 3-digits. And I'm not even mentioning Vic. (Oh dear, did it after all.) Don't take too long a holiday, people! You might meet each other again in oblivion. Don't say you weren't warned. So here we have another round that shakes up the 5th Silver Yoke standings: 1st: stays with Gus and 84 1/3 points (1st, 84 1/3); 2nd: Penguin, 80 1/3 (2nd, 62 1/3); 3rd: North, 51 (5th, 39); 4th: Nalazoo, 49 1/3 (3rd, 41 1/3); 5th: Spineth, 45 (6th, 30); 6th: Faye, 40 (4th, 40); 7th: Yitz, 37 (10th, 12); 8th: Snowbird, 32 (9th, 22); 9th: Lynsie, 27 (7th, 27); 10th: ktc24, 24 (8th, 24). Gus still sits pretty in 1st, but for his sake let's hope Penguin doesn't have bad breath, as it's coming heavily down ole' Gus's neck. Four more points to go, Polar Bird! Speaking of polar, North managed to shoot up to 3rd place, passing both 'Zoo (now 4th) and Faye (down to 6th!) in the process. Faye, my dear! What happened? I hope your vacation was sweet, cuz you have your work cut out for you. The MOFOs just don't feel the same without you being somewhere near the top. Yitz won another three places and is now in 7th. We'll hear more from our new star. Right behind him Snowbird picked up another place and made 8th. Lynsie and ktc fell victim to all of this and ended closing the ranks in 9th and 10th. Not far behind, though, so all is not lost. Outside the Top Ten we see no immediate threats. Ump sits in 11th with only 10 points, so has to cover a gap of 14 to get back into fame and fortune. Sdo62 and Vic have 6 points each, el Carmo Grande has 5, and Robo has 4. They can get back in, but will have to work hard for it. On to the standings in the 2nd Golden Sequoia Cup: 1st: Gus, 270 1/3 (1st, 270 1/3); 2nd: Penguin, 175 1/3 (2nd, 157 1/3); 3rd: Faye, 150 (3rd, 150); 4th: Nalazoo, 149 1/3 (4th, 141 1/3); 5th: Lynsie, 80 (5th, 80); 6th: Tater, 71 (6th, 71); 7th: Snowbird, 60 (7th, 50); 8th: North, 51 with one 1st (9th, 39); 9th: Spineth, 51 with two 3rds (11th, 37); 10th: Jmac, 48 (8th, 48). We are now just over halfway the 2nd Golden Sequoia, and you can see how Gus reigned supreme in the early bit as he's still almost 100 points ahead of the Penguin. Not impossible, especially if he keeps taking holidays, but Penguin has his work cut out for him. Stay on top, or else. Faye remains in third by one of the smallest possible margins: 2/3 of a point. 'Zoo is on a roll and will overtake Faye in this prestigious cup if she doesn't watch out. Get back to flinging, Faye, or you'll become a footnote in MOFO history! Nothing changes in 5th-7th, but North wins a place in 8th, on an equal footing (but with a first place under his belt) with Spineth with two 3rd places, another up-and-coming superstar. Jmac drops to 10th, just staying in the Top Ten. That's not a safe position, as ktc24 behind him has 9 points less, and especially Yitz behind that by another two points. The way Yitz is going 11 points is not that much of a gap, and chances are we'll see him in the Top Ten soon. Finally, the good ole' Concorde. Not much going on there: 1st: Gus, 451 1/3 (1st, 451 1/3); 2nd: Faye, 381 (2nd, 381); 3rd: Ump, 288 (3rd, 288); 4th: Nokitano, 226 (4th, 226); 5th: Vic, 216 (5th, 210); 6th: Penguin, 205 1/3 (6th, 187 1/3); 7th: Nalazoo, 178 1/3 (7th, 170 1/3); 8th: Snowbird, 166 (8th, 156); 9th: North, 147 (9th, 135); 10th: Castle, 125 (10th, 125). The ranking doesn't change. The gaps do. Penguin is closing in on Vic, and 'Zoo is pulling away from Snowbird, who sees North looming up behind her. Castle still sits in 10th with Copper just three points behind him, but not much changes in his wake so he's OK for now. Until someone like Copper, Coastcat, PocketDaddy or Tater wakes up. So keep watching your back, Castle! Singaporeans have to work to stay ahead, as we all know. Meanwhile, the crowd has gone off and seems to have a ball in the fleshpots of Miami. Watch this space, folks. We hardworking journos of the MOFO Statesman & Herald will be there to report it all! Cheers, M.
Sorry, too lazy to edit out quoted text from iPhone. That's really unfortunate about the crews being public. Maybe I'll give NQ a try again. I just don't see this type of game holding my attention for very long. I vaguely recall playing snake on my old Nokia phone, only played it to kill time. I'm in Washington DC, finally settling in, 1:40am here. The wifi here sucks. Gonna be a brutal morning, waking up at what would normally be 4:30am at home. I managed to fling some planes during my flight, and it only brought my battery down to 40%. Have no idea how many jobs, GC hasn't updated yet. That seems to be a recurring problem for me. The landing was a bit rough, I swear our pilot was trying to do a slalom down the runway. Not much plane flinging happening tomorrow, will be too busy seeing the sights. Oh no! Don't say that. I've got a bunch of Bux layovers scattered around in various cities, and they're for cities I've already closed but will prolly re-open again in the future. I guess I wouldn't have noticed this cuz I don't have Bux Sitters at the moment. However what I do notice is that the game seems to know which cities my planes are assigned to. For example, if I need a plane to go back to London, the job list will show very few London jobs. I've noticed this many times. Oh btw, I've updated a few lines in the spreadsheet. I can't seem to sort z-to-a on the jobs column. Maybe it's a phone thing. .
I live by bux layovers. All my Class 3 airports, plus a handful of my Class 2 ones (that's about 40 of my airports), are for 60-80% filled with bux layovers at any point in time. These are the fallout from both my regular Class 2/3 intercontinental lines and event servicing. I've got a fleet of Blimps that do nothing but hoover up these bux layovers, plus scooping up the new ones that pop up in the airports they visit. I have never noticed any slowdown in the number of bux jobs popping up, despite the massive numbers of layovers I maintain routinely. I think I would've noticed... Cheers, M.
I keep reading about your fleet of blimps and am getting jealous. Having a secondary fleet of blimps would nicely fit with the way I play as I sometimes have large gaps during the day when I can't check my phone so sometimes have the planes sat doing nothing for periods, it would be nice to have a fleet in the background floating around getting me money and bux at these times, however I only have one. They have had a number of full aircraft giveaways recently and I am hoping for either a blimp or Sea Knight give away as I want a load of either of these planes for future use
Welp. I got out of the game for just a few minutes to read the forum, and when i got back in, 22 planes were grounded, with more arriving.
That's something that I don't understand about PP - how can an airport be closed yet accept incoming planes?
Apparently droid and iOS don't operate on the same closing because NY is open on mine... And it seems the closing on iOS are always 30 minutes long.
Because the programming of the game isn't sophisticated enough to handle all that. It randomly generates closings.. If a plane was an hour away and then NY is randomly closed you can't just stall the plane in mid air..
I think the game has to let them land as i'm guessing it would be quite tricky to implement into the game to have to make people divert their planes, although they could just automatically just fly back to the airport they came from I suppose.
