I also contacted them. I hate that I bought because I was led to believe there would be a 3rd act. It's just too good to not finish.
Although I haven't got the game (yet) been reading up on it and actually worth it to get now but think will wait till Ch3 has been released and just pay the cost for the entire game. Or possibly wait a few days (hrs?) for it to come down. And hope those who contacted TransGaming will get a response soon. I'll be waiting too.
Hey - do I remember adding you on Open Feint? But same here... it was one of the first games I've bought and never deleted it!
I emailed them last week about Ch 3 (I email them every 2 months to ask), and yet again I was told that they didn't have anything to announce, they were still working on it, and to hang tight. Yea, I'd pretty much given up too. I hope they have no ambition to bring Galactrix, that game was mediocre and not worth the frustration to deal with this type situation again with a whole new galaxy of content.
Added. News of them saying they are still working on it is still good news. Can you source that information for us so we can see it for ourselves?
That's the email, heavily edited. i guess they don't specifically mention still working on it, although they did in the last email I wrote in December, which I don't feel like posting to back up my entire rather lengthy email history with them. Nevertheless, I'm not hopefully we'll ever see Ch3, although I'd love to be made wrong on that point.
What I sense is a heavy focus on Mac, but not sure what their iPhone team currently consists of? Anyone know if they are still actively pursuing any iPhone development with any software products at all?
Is it good news? Try googling Duke Nukem Forever But yeah, really wish they'd hurry up and release Chapter 3 already, been way to long now.
Not to depress anyone, but I got a similar answer nearly a month after chapter 2 came out, and it's like almost a year ago (many months for sure).
Got some news, too: The good news is, the work on chapter 3 continues and it hasen't been dropped, as I expected. Bad news: when will it be released?
Given the huge amount of time that has now passed, I would be very surprised if chapter 3 ever sees the light of day on the iPhone. It will be a shame if the game is not completed but I fear it to be the case. As well as seeing chapter 3 eventually get released I would also like to see the bugs in this game ironed out and also improved optimisation for the iPhone and iPod. The PSP version of Puzzle Quest is fantastic and I heartily recommend it to everyone, but the iPhone port suffers from being too buggy (it constatnyl crashes on me when I get to a certain point) and also has too much hard-to-read blurry text.
They killed themselves on this one. If they would have just came out with the entire game at $9.99 or even $6-7.99 then they probabally would have made much more money then the crappy way they've released it in different chapters. I bet they were underwhelmed by sales and cant see the profitibility of putting in the $$ to complete chapter 3.
This would be very disappointing to me if there is no Ch3. First time player of these type of games and had enjoyed only the lite (quick taste) because of what I've been reading and decided to wait if not even purchase. Anyone think its still worth getting Ch1+2 knowing the end leaves you hanging and with only possible hopes of a final chapter? (maybe I'll wait to see if they will lower the price some if there isn't a Ch3 and at the same time adding salt to the wound of all who'd been waiting and waiting and waiting).
That would be me! I do love what the "Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords" game has done by combining role-playing and strategy components with match-3 type puzzling. And, how cool is it that I can have a portable version of such a great game for the iPhone / iPod Touch? The game itself is great, and the initial port had some issues that would have made answering your question more difficult, but they did fix those problems and now I consider it one of my "must have" apps. It and "Gemmed!" (by Wasted Pixel) are two puzzle games that I can't see myself not having on an iPhone OS device ... if I had to buy them again I would
Ya PQ was one of the first games I bought on my Touch when it came out, I absolutely loved the 360 version so thought it would be cool to have it on the go too.... Unfortunately they didn't optimize the game very well they did update it once with some minor improvements but it was prob too late. I think most people that played it already on other systems decided to pass on it cause they already had it and/or played it and heard the port wasn't done very good. And to anyone that never played it prob thought it has just another match 3 game.... I still had quite a bit of fun and to the person who wondered whether to get the game or not cause the ending left you hanging, I'd say theres still a tremendous amount of content in the game compared to most idevice games so content wise its still worth it if the thought of being left hanging is just too much then thats up to you.... I dont see chap. 3 coming out either sadly, they really missed the boat on this game on the app store by not doing it right from the get go and due to poor sales is why we wont see chap. 3 sadly. But they still should deliever on their promise but its been far too long already.
Yeah, I've essentially been waiting for Chapter 3 until I purchase. The initial release issues had left a sour taste in my mouth but the Lite version at least got me really excited. But I've essentially been waiting for the entire game to be released first.
Well, you never know. Stranger things have happened, and games, whether updates or new ones, seem to come out of the blue on occasion. So I wouldn't count out Chapter 3 just yet.
I was going to hold off on letting someone else break the bad news to you guys. Then again this could be good news also. There probably wont be a chapter 3, and this is the reason http://www.d3publisher.us/ProductDetails.asp?ProductID=113 I would think that they are focusing all thier "puzzle quest" related efforts on the new project. Who knows though maybe they will release this for the i Devices. Then agian maybe they are just not making enough through the app store to do so.
