They've already mentioned doing some expansions, and yes it will run on the 3g as well as the 3gs it just will have a shorter draw distance on the 3g.

This is one app where I wouldn't mind in app purchasing. That being said, expansions would be awsome.

The expansions would most likely be offered as in app DLC.

I agree. I never had any problems with the voice acting in oblivion. Maybe with morrowind, but not with oblivion.

That being said, since my 360 broke back in January I've been dying to play oblivion. I'm hopeing that this will help.

They don't need to use voiceovers here in this game imo. They can use "accents" like the way Zelda used them instead of full voice overs. But i'm not complaining if they do use full voiceovers :)

I have Oblivion Limited Edition for Pc and normal for Xbox. I prefer the PC version because of the great modding community it had\has. But that was back in 06.

Twilight Princess? Nah, I hated how it was a full game and a huge world aside from the fact that there weren't any voices. It's the only thing that bugged me. Voices, even crappy ones, give the game a little more life.

I personally don't care if there's any voice acting or not, and there probably won't be any. What I'm wondering is if the expansions (if any) will be free or paid.

of course they would be paid. Who makes expansions and makes them free?

    +1

Devs if you are still watching this thread I hope that you make your updates in-app purchases and show great success. I am tired of only having snackable content for the iphone platform. I really hope this game will be an example to other studios of how this market can sustain high quality immersive games. This engine has too much potential to be beat in 4 hours and then put down. Make 4 hour plot lines if you must but make lots of them and make us support your work.

To all those who hate in-app purchases please realize that the more the devs make the more quality games will be produced for this platform. Other than zenonia or possibly the quest there are no standard length RPGs out there for the iphone. Why? Because devs currently can make way more money for their time with inane snackable content than they can spending months developing a quality RPG. As an Ipod user and an RPG fan I hope that we can change this. I wish you all the best Ravensword!

    Agreed!

I am hopeful that by next year we will start seeing games at a premium price of $20-$30 because they are PSP quality.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I am assuming that with hardware bigger than or equal to 32G that it would be possible to make games as big as DS/PSP games. I am also assuming that the iphone/touch will be considered a true portable gaming system worthy of that type of effort by developers.

Really looking forward to seeing/playing this game on a 3GS!

UMDs max out at 1.8 gig, so both the 16 and 32 gig iPhone already have the capacity to carry PSP-sized games (several, in fact). As has been pointed out in these forums over and over again, the limitations are much more economic than technological: can the development of a PSP-sized game be supported by the AppStore model? Is there a market for such games in what is supposed to be a "casual" environment? I believe that it's possible, but certainly the jury is still out. A lot of us hope that Ravensword will be a step in the right direction.

It really comes down to the developers just not doing it yet. The iDevice gaming platform is a new thing. But I believe it will get there, given time.

Btw thanks to this thread I re-installed oblivion. I'm gonna force myself to do the main quest first since I never have completed it :).

LOL! Me Too! And completing the main quest is worth it- the endgame action and scenes are great!

Although my Oblivion was never uninstalled, this did inspire me to go back and make a new character and start a new game.

But anyway, back to Ravensword... any progress made towards that gameplay video?

After reading this whole thread. I can't wait either. Game looks great and very inspiring from a person who hopes to one day develop on this platform as well. I'll buy this immediately if the trailer looks nice enough. Keep up with the good work!

Staying in touch with the community is a great thing too you guys rock!

Well have fun, I enjoyed the main quest even if it was too short.

I agree that the expansions should be paid but I was just curious because so many other apps have additional content that is completely free.

The expansion pack could probably be 99 cents, but yet undetermined.
We will have a video in a few weeks, just getting more missions in, optimizing...
Going into beta probably next week if all goes as planned.
Please do not send a PM about beta testing. We have beta testers lined up and if we need any more we will let you know. Thanks for all the support so far!
