Exactly, people need to suck it up and buy a game that isn't $2 or less, seriously this is why there are only a very few games that IMO are comparable to and DS or PSP game. Also, I hate the reviews where a game is given 1 star because price drop or something else stupid.

Mahjong is known as the game of a thousand wonders and a hundred intelligences. However, very few computer mahjong games embody those features of mahjong games. We think it was due to the very low level of intelligence of computer players, no penalty (time) control system, and lack of a reasonable unified rule.

The World Mahjong games resolves all the problems and embody full features of mahjong games: each introduces a very high level of intelligence, a scientific penalty (time) control system (patented over five nations) and a very reasonable mahjong rule (World Mahjong Federation Rule). JPMR (Japanese Mahjong Rule) has an unnecessary and very complicated point calculation system. And OCMR (Official Chinese Mahjong Rule) has too many (81) hands of mahjong, so an ordinary mahjong player can hardly identify a winning hand.

The world-best Go player can only perform at a mediocre level of skill. And the newest mainframe computer can play a barely even game with the human Chess champion. But the artificial intelligence (computer players) imbedded into the World Mahjong game can beat any human mahjong player in the world. Thus Korean Government assigned it as an Excellent Information Technology in September, 1999.

By playing this mahjong game (World Mahjong - Duo), you may begin to play mahjong or enhance your skill level of playing mahjong. The intelligent computer player will guide you to become an expert mahjong player naturally by upgrading its skill level (1-9) gradually. Please review the “How to Play” in the game to understand the game exactly; there are a lot of examples of winning hands there. After a while you may visit a full-scale online mahjong gaming site [apps.facebook.com/WorldMahjongGames] to play various mahjong games (including some mahjong tournaments) with many internet connectors. You may purchase “World Mahjong Essence”, an English book via internet bookstores, and visit World Mahjong Federation (www.facebook.com/WorldMahjongFederation) for further information. And if you have any questions or advices, please send an email to [email protected].

This game was designed to play stand-alone and it will be upgraded to play an online game with other mobile player in the near future.

Yes there's a risk I won't like a game. I don't buy games based on the number of hours expected out of it. I just don't agree with the ridiculous proposal that games should be priced according to number of hours. As the others have already said, it's not a good indication of the quality of the game.

obviously because the devs noticed how no one would buy it for 10$ and changed it

I think one issue that may be being overlooked is the inability to transfer a license post purchase. If I get to the point where I am done with a 360 game, I can bring it to Gamestop or sell it on eBay or whatever. With signed digital downloads, I can't sell it or even transfer it to Someone else's phone if I wanted.

Due to this I feel a lower price is warranted. 99 cents is too low though. I bought CivRev, Myst and Space Ace to support mainstream game developers. I'm not saying this to bag on small developers either, I'm currently enjoying GeoDefense and Sentinel 1 & 2 and a few other games I've picked up in the last week as well. It's just that IP coming from console and PC games have millions of dollars invested in them and porting it to the iPhone won't make sense if the best they can get is $5 a sale.

Hey! This 13yr old paid US$9.99 for Super Monkey Ball, Rolando, Rolando 2, Real Racing, Need for Speed and MarbleBlast Mobile (while it was that price).

Guys, I'm really impressed by the overall accountability in these forums.

It is not in everybody's mind range to realize that if prices are low, overall quality will be low.

I salute you all for that.

On another hand, I feel that 5-7 $ is the most we can expect from a handheld game with 2 hours of gameplay.

It's more 10/11 year olds that throw tantrums - 13 tear olds do paper rounds and generally have a lot if money. One I know bought a DSi on a whim and never used it - some have thousands of pounds.

Interesting. In most places in the US, newspapers are delivered by men in cars, flinging them out the window. I haven't seen kids delivering papers in years!

I don't know how many 10 and 11-year-olds are actually posting in this forum--supposedly you have to be 13 to register (but we all know how that goes! ;) )

I realize that not all 13-year-olds are whining about prices, as Firestar said. It's great to see people recognize that in order to ensure high-quality games, developers have to be able to view the iPhone as a viable, financially-rewarding gaming platform.

However, there is a very vocal contingent of posters that complain ad nauseum about prices, and I do believe they are the more "youthful" members.

Bought Real Racing last night. How anyone could complain about the 10 dollar price tag is beyond me. Real Racing looks better than any DSi game I have and has graphics I'd expect of a PSP game, for half the cost.

A lot of people want to compare the iDevice's games with the DS and PSP, and while I understand that, it's a pretty false comparison as long as people are only willing to pay for $.99 fart apps. The technology (especially on the 3GS) is there, but so far only Firemint has spent the time and resources to produce a game that honestly pushes the boundaries (Gang$tar is close) of the device...and look at what happens when they do. You get a game that is VERY comparable to PSP and better than DS. Even charging 10 bucks, they may not make enough profit because the app store is undervalued. If THIS VERY GAME came out for the DS or PSP at a 10 dollar price point (or even 15 to cover costs of materials), it would sell like crazy. People would flip out. But because it's an "app store game" people are complaining about spending 10 dollars. Makes no sense. I really hope Firemint holds firm.

I'm 14, and haven't bought Real Racing. It just doesn't appeal to me, really. About the article on Pocketgamer though, they wouldn't say 'Well at some point we might put it on sale', they'd say 'No way it's staying £6', because otherwise people would hold off until it does come down. Business is sly like that :p

I don't really have a problem buying £6 apps, but I like to be certain about a purchase, because I really didn't like The Sims 3, which was my first $10 app.

    Prices?
I'll pay for the game if I want it and I have enough.
I might whine I don't have enough but I won't whine for the price to go down.

I agree. This would be a $20-30 game on the PSP and people would pay it, because it's a quality game.

No, Shredder Chess may not have online play, but it really doesn't need it. The adjustable/self-adjusting AI is guaranteed to even give highly skilled players a run for their money. Seeing how I always seem to have trouble finding people to play with otherwise, it is really the perfect game of chess for on the go. It's worth every penny for chess lovers.
