Nah, the next post the dev's will make is the day before they send it for approval, therefore keeping us on our toes. As it stands, I'm getting put off the game due to the dev's lack of updates :/
I agree-Horror racing is a good one!!! Waiting so long for this release along with Splinter Cell and Mirror's Edge is setting records every day for the most hype and rediculously long wait!! Salmost like the hot girl driving back and forth down the street flashing you!! You're getting seriously teased and you can't play with those thangs!!! That sucks-and this sucks too........... Release it. Who cares what you call it...................Just do it!!
Without question the single greatest post I have ever read on these forums. Dev/publisher, I hope you're listening.
Hey guys. I think they're having troubles with a publisher, which is causing the wait. I beta testes DaredevilDave and the dev was contacted by EA about publishing it. So while he waited for EA to sort things out (and eventually decline) he couldn't say anything to everyone waiting so he didn't get anyone's hopes up about EA publishing it. Nor could he give a release date since he was waiting on EA. It seems like this is what's happening here, so we should all stop nagging the devs since they can't really do much about it (unless Im completely wrong and they are withholding the game for their sadistic pleasure)
If this is true and the dev's hand this over to EA, I probably won't download it. EA would only spoil it and deprive us of updates.
So much hype, slowly dwindling away... even if we got an update from the devs saying this is going to be delayed by a month or two, better that than no news at all, which leaves people making all kinds of weird speculation. I probably will still get it, but the instant purchase has now become "wait for impressions first"
The first thing a major publisher will do when they pick up a game like this is tell the developers to shut up about it. The publisher wants to control the flow of information; they will tell the developer when to speak, who to speak to, and what to say about it. The publisher will also set the release schedule, based not on when the game is ready but what they think will be the best time to release it. That's just the way it is in this industry, and no amount of bellyaching is going to change that. The game will eventually be out. If it's something you want, pick it up. If it isn't, don't. Just forget about it until then; you'll end up pleasantly surprised.
I must be failing to understand things properly here? I understand the need for publishers with our disc-based 360/PS3 stuff but why exactly does an app store title need a publisher? Once the devs have finished the game don't you get it approved by Apple and then it's on the store for all to buy? I realise that by having EA publish your game you can see an increase in sales but surely a game (or app) can be launched and then a publisher pick it up further down the line?
Maybe EA gives to you, for example, 20,000 $ + 5% sales commission. Devs get less money, probably, but they minimize exposure.
I'm pretty sure that if for some reason EA decided to publish the game then pixelbite would work on the updates and EA would let them get on with it
We don't even kno if it is the publishing thing right now, let alone PBG talkin with EA.... @PermiaN, I think you have been lurkin' her for quite sometime or have anothr username here (which I hope is not the case) because out of the Millions of iDevice users, TA only has 49,155 members (Not even Half a mill) out of which only 7,613 are Active. How do they get exposure then? Thanks to the way AppStore lists the Apps in there
As long as anybody but EA publishes it, it is a day one purchase for me. After buying Spore Origins, I swore to never support EA Mobile again. Even if just a cent of my money goes to them, it will not be worth it
Not really sure where this EA publishing thing came from, but it is definitely not true. Go back and reread Pixelbites last post, they say the game is finished and is in quality assurance. I would be willing to bet that they fixed a few bugs, and are now trying to coordinate the simultaneous release across the iPad, iPhone and Android. Not really sure why they have such a desire to have the game on the Android market when the iPhone/iPad user base destroys Android and is also much more profitable (potential). But it is probably submitted now (hopefully) and I would hope we will get some news soon.
Anybody think they might be waiting for the iPhone 4G? Y'know; 'cause of the higher screen res, larger RAM, etc
