iPodTouch 1.gen One question: Can I play the game on an iPod Touch 1.gen (32GB/iOs 3.1.2)? It would be great!
I played this for a while this weekend and have to say I enjoyed it a lot! I'm really looking forward to the release on iOS.
Although the website says Feb 24 for release of the iPhone version is there any chance of an earlier release or should I just stop the refresh of my search for Shadow Era on iTunes every 30 min now? By the way the new website is very nice. The only issue is viewing it on my iPad. The left side of the page is cut off and panning or zooming out does not help.
Great News. I will test the game on my dino-device after release and share my impressions for all the other dinosaurs here. I hope Apple will soon release this exciting game ...
When I try to log in to http://www.shadowera.com, I get a blank page with "Can't connect to database".
I'm pretty sure Apple controls every aspect of the initial release date, so I'm thinking that date has to be an estimate. Since I started paying attention to such things, I've been hearing "two days to two weeks" from developers who will discuss their submissions to the App Store. It can vary wildly, apparently, especially during big events/holiday seasons.
Well it's been awhile since I submitted our apps but I believe you can set a date that is beyond the approval process and the app will become available on that date but you can always move the date once the app is approved. Kyle probably has set the date to the 24th but if it gets approved today he could always move the date to tomorrow.
Ah, I hadn't thought of that. Interesting stuff; thanks for the info. So, yes, maybe the 24th was a picked date for some reason.
I think developers have statistically determined that if you launch your title on a Thursday you get the most sales, and have a better chance of getting on Apple's featured list or something like that. So most likely he is planning to release on Thursday on purpose.

1st impressions (using the windows version for now): The game looks nice, but as a whole feels very incomplete. - Beginning as a brand new player, there's no "in-game" tutorial on how to play. (Besides your very first match, where the AI hands you your a$$ = dumb.) - There's no way "in game" to look at your deck, organize the deck or put together any kind of strategy from what I can see so far. The game starts, cards are random, deal with it is what I'm observing so far. (Also that removes this title from the "Trading Card Game" category.) - The AI so far seems to have a streamlined deck, putting monsters out and pretty much owning the game from the start, not giving a new player a chance. Again this is all based on the windows version so far, which I'm assuming is a fair representation of the final product? *Update* Have tried 5 separate games and the very first match the AI just stomps from the start... I'll be saving my money, waiting for something else, thanks.
Hi Creepshow, thanks for the feedback, it's always good to hear from new players when they are having problems with something. First of all, when you create an account it will show you some popup help text that explains that you can access the game menu by clicking on the jewel icon at the top center of the screen. From there you can go to the Merchant to buy or sell cards, or select Deck to view your deck and manage it. When you play your first battle, each game phase is explained by further help text. To view the help text again, open the Options menu and select Reset Help Text. The first AI opponent should be very easy to beat, as long as you don't keep sacrificing all your allies. Still, I will consider dumbing down the AI even more for the first few matches to give a better experience for new players. BTW the game is free, so you can save your money and still play
Thanks for the excellent speedy reply, I wasn't expecting that. I was wondering if I just chose an advanced player deck or something, stabbing myself in the foot from the start. I knew there was a curve, but just felt like it was a stomp-fest = frustrating. Again, if it's working for others, no need to "dumb-it-down" for dumba$$es like me, I just wanted to make sure others have a "5-star rating" experience from the start. I'll go through the help menu again and give it another go. iOS sorely needs a good functional game like this. Thanks Kyle.
