Found the option in the top middle of the map, thanks! That didn't stand out on the windows version, but all I care about is iOs. Full deck customization is there, excellent!!! Nice job! I feel like such a moron, everything is there and this game is great!!! Now on to attempt the 1st AI again.
I don't understand how the AI stomps you from the start. Have you never played Magic or any other card game like this?
Finally beat up the first AI. I think the problem was my choice of the mage deck. That deck seems pretty tough to "begin" with since his ability hurts/kills even your own units in play, but the spells are worth it. To answer others, I've played magic/ygo and assumed there was a curve in play, but I dunno, just kept getting stomped. This is a 10 star game no doubt, superb job!!!
Alot of players don't notice the top menu after some games. Some people even play over a dozen games before finding out about that menu. Maybe, just at the start, like when the player first views the map, the main menu should drop down; just to let new players know it's there. They should be able to figure out the rest from there. As for the AI, while it currently yields complaints from more experienced players for being too easy, I think it's a good idea to make the first couple of games against the AI even easier than it already is. A good portion of the iOS audience are younger players so it would better help them get into the game.
Thanks Kyle, great job. BTW, I'm actually really liking my decision of Human Mage, but my question is how the heck do you use Amber Rain? I'm not understanding the "Dual Weild" thing... Thanks! (Sorry if questions have been asked already 80 pages is a lot.)
At the risk of appearing completely uninformed and/or ignorant of current events or blatantly obvious posts somewhere I haven't looked... Is this out yet? : D
I can't understand why my allies don't attack or aren't shown to be attacking the enemy. I agree. I think it needs a little more of a tutorial, speaking as a new player and fairly new to the card genre. It kind of leaves you after a few pop-ups. Never really explains the graveyard and a few other elements unless I missed it.
Banebow deals 4 damage to target hero, instead of 2. matchmaking should be optional, so you can choose, do you want to play with someone who played already a lot and owns all good cards or not. otherwise it can be like extended vs t2. ld girl for 4 mana, in such small decks. XD Mages do not have anything vs enchantments, weapons, even owepriced? wtf? few regenerations, healing enchantment, weapon, some removal and fog, and then mage matchup vs wulven is like rdw vs lifegain. and rain delay stacks not properly.
The iPhone version has already been submitted to the App Store and is scheduled for release on Feb 24.
Kyle, the game is ULTRA easy for new players against the first AI. There is almost NO WAY to loose unless you sacrifice everything you draw that can do damage. Perhaps rather than dumbing things down even more, you could add some more instruction to the opening popups that explain clearly that your allies and their ability to attack and damage an opposing hero are the primary way to go about defeating your opponent. I'm literally flabbergasted that someone could lose to the first AI (no offense to anyone who was beaten by it) and think it must be misunderstanding of the new player that needs to be addressed. Apple sure is taking their time reviewing this one, aren't they! Let's get this thing released already!!!! CAN'T WAIT! Q
Bane bow can select two targets or double up on somebody for 4 damage. We are working on additional multiplayer options in the future, but currently the quick match will only pair you with someone that has a similar rating to ensure a fair fight. It's not really clear what you are talking about regarding mages, but you can visit the Shadow Era forums for discussion... The Rain Delay bug has been fixed in the next version, it is not supposed to be able to stack. I have given a lot of thought how to better handle new players that are not too experienced with tcgs, so the next release will be much improved in that area. We are also working on some tutorial videos in time for the iPhone launch. The desktop versions are almost ready too, I was playing today on my 27" iMac and it was great But everybody be sure to keep providing feedback as it really helps to make a better game!
well, than it should be in the description. other classes and races have access to item destruction, except human mages heroes. looking at accessibility of all other abilities, i would say it is a bit unbalanced.
Mages have plenty going for them, and honestly they can deal weapon like damage without them. This will hopefully balance the game some.
The windows/mac versions are I believe. From what I understand your progress carries over into the ios version when released so feel free to dive right in! Hurry up Apple! Kyle, I'm not understanding Amber Rain, she seems kind of useless. I didn't see anything in the forums and "Dual Weild" isn't much of an explanation. Thanks very much!' P.S. I understand you built this game from the ground up with just a few people. You guys did a most excellent job.
Currently, the only weapon card is for the Wulven class, which leaves Amber Rain's ability fairly useless at the moment. But the next update is expected to incorporate 10 Hero Weapon cards so she should be pretty badass then. eev@ Only the Priest class has access to an item destroying card right now. Ter Adun has it as the ability as well and, the card, Smashing Blow is Warrior classed but item destruction is quite limited. Many players complain on the SE forums that the mage class is overpowered right now. It's also the most common deck in PvP as well.
Poor Amber Rain cannot use her ability yet, as weapons are not currently available. But we had a contest for coming up with the new armor and weapon names and effects, and the results were fantastic. About 25 new cards will be released in the next version, then watch out! The update will be submitted a few days after the first release goes live, then biweekly updates will follow. Lots of great things planned...
