Yep, and it is awesome! I can't wait to play this on my iPad though! Everything about it just screams that it will work great on a touch screen! Also very cool that there are already a few user created adventures/modules out already! I can see some great stuff coming from the mod community quite quickly at this rate!
Yeah, and what about the ipad? There's no editor...hope there is a chance to get new adventurs/jobs/runs via update. Looking really forward to the mobile version, chummers!
The editor was the one reason I got the Steam version a couple of hours before the sale ended. I was reading a review and it mentioned the level editor and I HAD to get out of bed, turn my pc on and buy it right then. I wonder if the iPad version will be able to access the user generated content, even if it won't be used to create it...
From what i've read they will release the best user content for the ipad. As iap ? I would guess but dont know According to twitter ios version was held back to make it better, should be out in the next few weeks
I really hope the mobile version is released soon, I have already sunk a few hours into my desktop version and I absolutely love it...
On a sidenote I have to say that I am very glad I got the premium package from Steam... The music in this game is phenomenal And just meshes together perfectly with the visuals and you all around to create such a great cyberpunk feel for this game! As a gamer there are those moments where you are perfectly content was going double down on the game that you already own on one platform and have no qualms with buying it again on another. For me this is that game!
You would think that even without an editor for the iPad version that they would still allow for the use of user Denerid a content. Look at games like Junk Jack or iWensnoth And other apps which allow you to import user generated and created content into the game app right through iTunes software (where you view the Apps on your device, their is a section at the bottom for some apps to allow for drag and dropping of content). Since the content packages created by users is nothing more than referential data referring to assets already within the game as well as customized event and trigger variables, you would think that just copying and pasting them over would be able to allow a player to have their content on their iPad in that way... I don't know, it just makes sense to me. None of the packages are considerable large (roughly several MBs just for a decent sized adventure) so it seems more like a design oversight.
I also hope the delays mean the iPad version will get the level editor feature or atleast get access to the user created content....
They specifically stated it will not have the level editor, it is exclusive to the computer version, and it not being included is why the cost is going to be lower here. I figure the price tag will be about $10USD. As for the user generated content, it won't be directly accessible. They've said they will try to incorporate the best into the tablet versions, though, and I think there's a good chance Hairbrained will live up to their bargain. There are already plans in the works to recreate the SNES and Genesis versions. I can't remember which I played, but I remember being so lost with the game, but so in love at the same time. I can't wait to play it, and every time there is a post to the thread, I pray it will be a sneak attack, even though that's not really possible, with the portal to submit games being down and all.
Been playing around with the level editor a fair bit, have the beginnings of an epic story coming together. The most interesting thing I found though, specifically concerning iPad users, is that when you are adding objects there is a "hide prop on tablets" checkbox when editing individual properties. So as far as I can tell, the iPad version will be able to access user generated content.
Huzzah!!!Thanks for the info!! That just made my day...Soooooo would anyone here want to be the dm and supply us with a module???hehe I'd like to see some whacky mods as well..
I don't know about "supplying", but I'm pretty happy with what I'm working on. Hoping to get it out by the end of the weekend, this level editor is tough. Edit: Wow. I am incredibly impressed with the level editor. It's complex, in-depth and rather stunning once you wrap your head around it. I have just finished making scene 1 (of many) and at this stage I've spent 90% of my time with the editor instead of the game itself. Loving every minute of it.
They have stated the ipad will not have direct access to user edited content. It cannot, the editor is tied to steam. They will release the best user stories for the ipad
I opened up the editor and it was pure white space lol. Apparently, I need to look up those how to videos on Steam. Neverwinter has a very similar interface for their Foundry/UCC.
That's good to know - oh well, I don't wanna wait for te ipad version. Game's great on PC/Mac, but to play it whenever and wherever I want is awesome!!!!
I am going to buy this game. I do not play games on my PC. Argh. I'm excited. About to go to my buddies place and watch him edit. Edit. Played game. Love game. Man oh man
They have got to fix the save system before it hits mobile or there will be hell to pay. Currently the game only saves when changing locations.
I feel like that's a problem with the engine. There is no way to add a save point anywhere on the map in the editor. Still, they could put in a pause on suspend for the iPad version, but so far I don't think that would be a problem. The areas aren't so big that autosaves are hard to come by.
