Sleep Cycle I have 2 questions about this app. Please answer both even if the first one means it won't work anyway.

    1. Why won't it work on a 2G iTouch????

2.Do i really need to have it charge all night, or will it go dead if i don't?

    Thank you!

I just bought the app (apparently its on sale right now).

I think I can answer your second question. It needs to charge all night because the app needs to run throughout the night (I read that it takes up a lot of battery and your device can get quite hot because of this). So if you dont charge the device, I imagine that your battery will run flat before morning comes.

You don't HAVE to charge it, but if the battery dies during he night, the app can't wake you obviously, that's why they strongly suggest you to charge it.
It does't work on an iPod because it doesn't have a proximty sensor that allows the devs to turn off the screen hlwuen you put it on your bed. They say if Apple will allow tyem to turn off the screen without the need of abpriximity sensor, then they'll support iPods too.

BTW, the German news magazines SPIEGEL and Focus tested the app in sleep laboratories. It failed miserably. The graphs are random and the success stories in the reviews are just the result of placebo effects.

It is not possible for the developers to shut down the screen and keep the accelerometer running on the iTouch. If the screen remains on for all the night the device becomes warm With the screen being on all night the device can become warm. Due to this reason Sleep cycle don't work for 2G iTouch.
