I've been a long-time lurker here, but I just registered only so I could add my voice to the chorus saying, "This game looks FANTASTIC!"
I just registered to say thank you to the creators of this game. This is one of my dream game ideas. I only hope you make it good. Also, thanks to you for actually communicating with your players. That seems quite rare. I appreciate your taking time to do that. Also, I would like to bring up the ratio of management-to-exploration-to-building (or whatever it was?) just a bit. Could we possibly have settings for each, like, three or four options so that we could select how much emphasis on exploraiton, management, building (or whatever those were). That would be awesome, because there's a lot of personal preferences. It might be hard to program though. I think it would be great if you simulated the crew and ship and items and everything to a deeper extent, perhaps on the higher management settings? Lastly, things I'd like to be able to do in this game: -mine asteroids and build stuff with the ore. -make a fleet of fighters and customize them, and use them in combat. -have a programming element, not actual but you get to have programmers make programs for you. -have the ability to create AIs and put them in charge of some aspects of your ship or parts of your ship. -have the ability to build your ship really custom, not just rooms in general but actually laying out the walls, etc. Maybe you could have preset ships, for those who didn't want all that bother, and preset rooms to go with them? and then for the micromanagers they could build each computer terminal and large lever and control panel, and the engines and everything, and hook them up. Kinda like in redstone and pistons in Minecraft but more advanced. -have actual atmospherics simulation, so when an asteroid punches a hole in your ship the air leaks out, and so when someone releases gas it spreads. -have the ability to create your own gengineered organisms and your own custom electronics! -however the above is kind of me asking for this game to be like "Dwarf Fortress in space" with graphics and a better interface. Which is actually something I'd really, really love. -last but not least have the ability to do whatever you **** well please, missions can go to ****! that is, have the ability to ignore missions if so desired.
The only thing I'd ask for is enough content for a "Five Year Mission" where I can push my ship through its paces and grow my crew up to the point where they're the baddest crew of officers in the galaxy... and then retire an admiral.
Questions 1) Can we Beta Test? 2) Is there going to be battles with other fleets (AI fleets) 3) Can ther be battles ON your ship? 4) Do you control one person, and make decisions, or control everyone together..
One question I'd like to ask is, does it support portrait mode? I love the kairosoft games and I play them all in portrait mode. but from the screens it looks like landscape only. :-( I know it's not a huge problem and I'll buy the game anyway but just wondering really.
