    Hi Guys,

The game is fun & I'm glad I bought it, BUT the constant IAP come-ons are obnoxious at best.

It'd be one thing if the game were free. Otherwise you're insulting your best customers IMO....

Seriesly what is wrong with everyone, the IAP's ARE NOT NEEDED, they are there if you want to rush through the game.

Totally not the point of what the poster you replied to was saying.

Controls too big for comfort on x2 for me. Great game though. Now go make the controls scalable/movable and support universal. :)

    Please. :D

That's not his point at all and I agree with him and everyone else disappointed with the Iap. It may not be needed but its annoying when you pay for a game and they're still everywhere you look. And the game seems rather geared towards persuading the players to buy the Iap.

When I buy a game I want a game, not another store.

I hope, if nothing else, this is the one point that's crystallizing out of the whole IAP debate that almost everyone could agree on and developers could take on board: if you want to load your game with IAP don't charge us up front for it. If we pay up front we expect the game to be IAP free. I think it's a completely reasonable solution that takes both sides into account without sacrificing integrity.

On my ipod 4th gen when I don't have wifi connection: the game hangs after completing a level "updating leaderboards." makes it hard to play on the go. Please fix!

Completely agree with the disappointment of the IAPs in this game. If we pay up front for a game, there should be no IAPs. When you go to Game Stop and purchase a game such as Gears of War they don't make you pay with real money to unlock weapons in the game.

I could understand paying additional money for something such as an expansion, but this whole paying money for crystals to unlock weapons and purchase health and lives is asinine.

This whole trend of IAPs needs to change. I was very excited for the release of this game, and I haven't even been playing this game much because games with IAPs turn me off to the game. It just makes it hard for me to get into the game.

This is just my opinion and my 2 cents.

Excuse me if I missed it, but can you please show the post where the developer stated with %100 confidence that they will be adding universal supoort? I asked the same question and the response was 'if the sales are good'.

I tend to agree that I don't understand why all games are not universal from the start, and that some developers only add it post-release. Same way with iCloud. Is it 'twice as much' work or something to create a universal game from the get go? I also note that 90% of the times the iPhone version comes first (or only); sure, there are instances like the iPad only game Aquaria, but that is certainly not the norm. I get it though; the majority are on iPhones.

I'm not a fan of IAP due to my dedicated, hardcore gaming laurels, but I do understand why they're there. Plus, I just dislike seeing the get gems thing there.

With that being said, I have not had any of the pop-ups during the game. The only ones I get are when I start the game up. The notification telling me that you just gave me a Wings of Icarus is slightly annoying (i just got this). Say it the first time you run out an after that it should be automatic.

About the game: What's the requirement to get the last star. So far I've gotten 3 stars on a couple levels, but I don't know why. It has to be score based, right?

I bought the game after the dev explained how the IAPs work. I don't have a problem with in-game currency to buy and upgrade items. These types of games almost always have an option of paying to unlock stuff rather than playing the game to do it. Buying the IAP often ruins the experience. In a game like Jetpack joyride, part of what keeps you coming back is earning coins to unlock new items.

However, after playing the game, I have to say that I think the balance is way off in this. 1 or 2 gems per level is way too slow. It does feel more like a free-to-play game in which you can play without paying real money, but the currency is delivered so slowly that it requires a lot of grinding or watching ads to progress. Plus if you buy lives or healthpacks it automatically uses them rather than giving you the option to continue or give up.

The game itself is pretty fun. I'm not in love with the controls. I would prefer an eight-way aim/run on the left like Contra uses, and a jump button on the right. There's no reason that firing couldn't be done automatically. You have unlimited ammo afterall.

I really would like to recommend this game. It looks great, even without retina display, and the gameplay is fun. But I do feel like my enjoyment is curbed by the rate at which gems are given. I understand the devs need to make a living, and if they rake in the sales with this method then more power to them, I'm just not into it.

I was directing it to EVERYONE that had complained about the IAP's, hence the "everyone" in my post.

After hearing about the IAP I'm definitely not getting this. Don't expect this to be getting that universal update either. Won't be surprised if this goes free in a couple weeks...

All you have to do to get crystals is just keep watching the Zynga video repeatedly. No IAPs are necessary. :)

Welp...for all us guys that did buy it we have something to enjoy. I'm not having any problems with IAPs or grinding because it helps me perfect my run while getting gems for upgrades. I've also been completing the challenges.

We can enjoy the game we bought, not buy the IAPs, and then the dev will hopefully see that we buy games at face value but not micro-transactions.

Heck, some guys might go Contra/old skool badass and not buy any any upgrades, unlock all the weapons, and just play that way.

In Contra you only had 3 lives and the weapons. I died a lot more in that game than this. Contra was definitely harder for me, but I was younger too.

Wow, quite the heated debate in here.

For those waiting for iPad support, do you really think it'll look that much better than 2x?

I wouldn't say that adding Universal support is "twice as much work", but it has the potential to add weeks or months to the release schedule. I'm sure most developers would like to add Universal support from the start, but they have to weigh the fact that spending all of that time upfront may not be worth their time. So I can understand the wait and see. If there is no demand for the iPhone version, why waste time making it Universal? That time would might be better spent developing a new game.

Also, having iCloud support is great, but that also isn't a trivial amount of work. Conflict resolution can be a real pain to deal with. And you can imagine the uproar if any user data gets corrupted.
