Thanks for all the feedback! We're switching genres pretty soon, actually. I don't think we'll do another hook-racing game for the platform... it's really hard to design for. We're not abandoning the grappling hooks, though, we're just not doing another racing game anytime soon. We messed up the unlock requirements for the hooks. You actually have to beat Magma Ruins to get the hooks. We're fixing this next update, though, which we're submitting early tomorrow. The sporewalls (fungus breakwalls) are harder to break than the other walls. This is because the block breaker shop item doesn't work on them. The hotpants also intentionally don't work on the acid pools. Hope everyone likes the update! Next update has another 4 levels.
That's what I was thinking. This update was so fun! Without spoiling anything, I'm just going to say that a certain secret excited me.
Great update, loving the level design. Hopefully if we keep buying the dlc kepa will keep updating for a while
Did a quick run through of all the new levels and I can tell they are challenging and I love the new theme. My iPhone 4 now gets lag spikes. Just a heads up. It did not do this before the update.
Hi Kepa, whatever game you make next please consider keeping the graphics style similar to Super QuickHook.
In the new levels does anyone have the little message and sound effect when finding a secret. Because I don't...... and I'm not sure if it is intentional or not?
Since the update, I've been getting lag almost to the point of it being unplayable. Tried rebooting multiple times.
I am also not getting the secret found messages. Which was a bit annoying when I was trying to search for them, but they still registered in my achievements fortunately. To be honest, my first impression of the new levels was that they had missed the mark and were more annoying than challenging. Having played through them a number of times now I'm starting to warm to them, but still don't find them as enjoyable as the other levels. I can't quite put my finger on it, other than saying again that I felt that the previous levels felt challenging, and therefore satisfying. These feel annoying (and a bit fiddly maybe?), and therefore frustrating. Just my opinion, and I am very grateful you are releasing any updates at all of course Also, cool credits level. I've always loved interactive credits or title pages. Is the fish hinting at anything, or just mind ****ing me?
are there any plans to release separate game "Super Quickhook: qpawn and mikeg123 Edition"? so people who don't torture original game would get a chance to stay at first two places a bit longer?
what's with hookbot is it only a character? i haven't bought Hookbot but it says no cursed chaser so does that mean if you play with hookbot that there isn't a monster chasing you as in SQH?
Its most prob been asked a thousand times before, but I cant see it... Any news on a iOS4 update to enable multitasking? I think it will benifit the game. Maybe its not too critical as you only play games that last a couple of minutes at a time, but this will definatly encourage me to play more. Thanks for the update, i've gotta start again because i've just installed it on my iPhone 4. Good to hear that the Openfeint back up is in this update for others
Technically speaking, it doesn't need multitasking. If you're in a level, if you exit the app and enter it again, you'll start off exactly where you left off.. so what point would there be to bringing in multitasking since it technically already does it?
WHAAT Who has finished the credit level??? it's awesome if you don't know how to finish PM me it's awesome you will get an archievement too! it's hard to get I find it my self there is a secret too
Howdy Kepa, It's entirely possible you've already considered this for some future level designs, but while travelling backwards on Pants Slide Pass I found that sliding up "stairs" was a really fun and somewhat challenging obstacle. Slide, tap to jump up to the next platform, slide, tap to jump, etc., etc. Could be a fun fresh thing to put in some levels, maybe a section for Endless / Avalanche mode. Will you be adding new / differenct sections for randomization in Endless mode at all?
