What happened to all the witty comments on upgrades and pre play banter? I feel like the soul of Hook Champ was lost in all the efforts for technical improvement.

I've said the same thing. The humor in HC made it worth not skipping all the dialogue. The chat and item descriptions in SQH seem to have been toned down. Agreeing with the comments on the look of the new levelset, they look fantastic.
I think it's mostly because the characters aren't working together. For Hook Champ, you were basically a duo of two characters, working together closely for the entirety of the game. It really gave them a chance to grow on you and allow for a lot of banter.
No. No changed to Avalanche Mode. In Update 3, there will be a new mode, though. It's called Eruption Mode.

The game's suddenly started to lag quite a bit, almost to the point of unplayability due to sudden seconds of lag that causes me to miss a hook shot or fall in lava. Particle effects are at their lowest, by the way.
Jesus, I'm not a console gamer, I've already set the particles to low and it still lags every few seconds.
Sorry you feel that way. I'm not really sure what to say, or even if I should respond. But I will. I'm a competitive guy by nature, and I found that I'm somewhat decent at HC and SQH. There aren't many other games where I can say that I've come close to the top of the leaderboards. And isn't the point of leaderboards to encourage competition? I also haven't even played SQH nearly as much as I did HC. I made a conscious decision to *not* let SQH consume a lot of my time -- and part of that comes down to the fact that I'm not competing against qpawn for the #1 spot. That was my big drive in HC. Plus, in HC, we were able to swap leads a lot more. In SQH, I have now beat *one* of qpawn's scores. I've conceded that he is too good, and that level of effort isn't worth my time. But I will fight for the #2 spot, and I don't see a problem with that. Sheesh, I'm #21 in the Journey to Inn level -- you are beating me on that one. I don't really know what else to say. I guess I didn't need to say anything at all, as I don't think that will change your view...
Yes please. I've died probably 70 times in the acid so far, and I've only played the new levels a couple times through.
So I'm confused, is there a secret in avalanche? I had all the secrets before the update but did not get the treasure gold achievement. Am I missing something? The coins on the last three fungus levels are also insanely hard to find
We're looking into lag issues... not sure what would cause them all of a sudden, exactly. We might nerf the acid very slightly. Not by too much, though. Edit: Send detailed lag reports (what your device is and such, when it happens) to the support address. If we get enough reports in, we could possibly fix whatever it is for update 2.
I have found the acid to be pretty good... except for the parts where you have to drop into it to get the coins, then its a bit tricky.
Please don't make the acid easier - I like how brutal it is at first. But if there was a pair of really, really expensive acid pants, it would give me something tangible-ish to work toward in between updates. Or hide secret acid pants/other upgrades within the levels. I think that would be awesome.
