Changelog: - Content Update: Four new levels, for SQH masters! New hats, grappling hooks, secrets, and achievements! - The acid in the Fungus levels is now nerfed a bit. You survive about 60% longer in it. - New shop dialogue added - Bug related to unlocking fungus depths hook fixed - Various other bugfixes/tweaks We didn't manage to get in iOS4 stuff. It's on the pile for Update 3. Update 3 is going to take much longer to make than the other updates, but it's going to have a lot of stuff in it. Off the top of my head: - A new, second endless mode. The sequel to Avalanche Mode. - New characters. 2 free ones, then some 99 cent DLC ones. - The final achievements for each category. - New unlock rewards (hats/hooks/characters) for achievement hunters.
i'm happy to say that this game is now the game i am most addicted to. Even more than Trees of Doom. And I've played that game for 20+ hours. SQH freakin rocks socks off the blocks with rocks with cherries on topolate chocolate feet with mystical banistical manilitapal frapaccino flavored fungi. totally delicous.
I wish you didn't have to chat in the Shop in order to get the dialogue. I wish there was an option to have it before each level. I LOVE the new acid levels. Reminds me of Metroid in the Ridley area. I can't wait for your Bionic Commando-style game. If I can suggest another upgrade, it would be nice if there were more rocket boot upgrades. Like if you are standing still, it recharges faster than if you are moving, a fourth boost, etc. I'm another person that experiences lag at times, especially on Avalanche if I'm in a snowy area. I'm on an iTouch 2G running the new iOS4. I have particles at low and normally am not connected via WiFi, so OF isn't the cause.
kepa, please make easier but fun levels. the hard levels turns away the casual gamers. or maybe i just suck
well magma ruins was a b1tch, and i'm pretty sure that's across the board, but the fungi levels were easy squeasy
Update 2's levels are the hardest so far. Update 3 will be a harder version of Avalanche Mode. After that, we'll be doing easier content.
It's the end of our conventional levels. No more racing levels, probably not making another Avalanche Mode sequel after Eruption Mode. However, it's not the end of new levels. We have plans for a new type of level in Update 4. What it is will be a surprise, until we submit it.
Hey guys, just downloaded Super QuickHook after wanting a new game for a while. It's got a really awesome concept and I love the art style, but it's pretty difficult to play. Are there any tips for newbies? I found that once I kind of fall to the bottom of a level, there's no real way to get back up again by swinging and I pretty much just run all the way along the bottom. Also, is there a trick to swinging with momentum? For example, I am running along but because i need to take my hand of the run button to swing, the guy basically stops and I don't get that, well, quick hook feeling. Also, the text is ultra small, I don't wear glasses but it's very hard to read. I love swinging around, but maybe I'm missing something about the best way to play the game fluidly. I'm open for advice!
Oh man, it's hard to explain and this is a lame answer, but it just takes practice. Like don't worry to much about running, the goal is pretty much to be swinging through the whole level, with some minor instances of sliding along the ground and getting shot into the air with a steam vent. Part of it is upgrading your equipment in the shop which makes everything a lot easier. Just hook diagonally upwards onto something in front of you, let it take hold, and at about the low point of your swing let go and it will shoot your forward with momentum. The rinse repeat as you keep on hooking onto things. I have no idea if that helps but it's definitely the type of thing that "clicks" with you after a while and when it does it becomes like a second nature thing. Hook Champ was a lot harder to get the hang of and you started out with a lot weaker equipment, so Quickhook is probably a good starting point for total newbies. Just keep at it!
So is the overall goal to get through the level as quickly as possible? I also see coins and other pickups, should I be going for them with more priority than time?
