Oooh, I like the sound of that. Maybe a new bright star in the sky one night. We all follow it and it leads to a little light - a laptop with iTunes open. And then the divine message appears - iPhone Apps, 1 of 1: Sword of Fargoal 2. Then we leave gifts, sync our devices and the world is never the same again.
Sorry to cause pants pooping. Send me the dry-cleaning bill. I hope you're enjoying your break. Much deserved.
It's not a break from working. It's just a break from Fargoal, LLC to work on something for our own company, Madgarden. Yea!
Good call on making Fargoal 2 a separate app. FYI - fargoal is the ONLY app I am checking on a daily basis. It's the only iPhone game I've cared about in the past 6+ months. Yes, it's that good. Can't wait for fargoal 2!
Okay Madgarden. The pictures on your twitter feed are intriguing, but I have no earthly idea what it is you're working on right now. All those buttons... talk of music programming... Any hints?
Ah, heh... yes, it's a little generative synth app, inspired by this: http://countercomplex.blogspot.com
Hot damn, that's cool! I had a Fugue program that did something like this on my C64, and nerdy enough to have sat through 10+ minutes of Martin Galway's Times of Lore intro many times (as parts of it are procedurally generated.) I tried to write a piece of music mapping numbers from the Fibonacci sequence to MIDI note numbers, but it was pretty messy. So - I had completely forgotten - you said there might be a bonus in store for people running both versions of Fargoal on the same device, now that the HD version is universal and I can do that... is there anything? Not that I'd be upset if there weren't, but I thought I'd ask.
Yes, Galway's Times of Lore is one of my favourites! So great. This particular synth method is so simple IT HURTS. And woe betide me if I actually *promise* anything regarding Fargoal... but in a perfect, idealistic world, yes there would be perks to go all around. Fargoal iPhone would likely go free, and having any of the apps installed would offer special bonuses to players of the other versions. Utopian scenario.
I'm still on my "break," the new app is almost ready. Giving the other team members time to try to catch up.
Recommended this game to someone, then they ask me "which version?" I'm like, "there's more than one version?" Apparently so. Haven't played this for a year or so, so had no idea. Looked at the descriptions of both, as far as I coud gather the universal one used to be iPad version, but no other apparent differences listed. So. Would someone care to fill me in? Any difference at all between the two versions for someone playing on an iPhone 4S?
They should definitely get Fargoal Legends (universal) at this point. Fargoal for iPhone will remain as an iPhone-only app, and will probably become our LITE version once 2.0 is ready.
