Artfoundry, in the original game you could dive down infinitely. So for our initial release, we decided to give a bit of extra depth just for fun. It also affects the game when thieves take the sword deeper. We will be adding an infinite depth in the future.
How am I supposed to get out within the small amount of time then, when an enemy mage teleports with the sword to level 578?
Uh-oh... I should have kept my mouth shut. Anyway, how about making a small version of that Sword of Fargoal game, but this time for some heart-pounding multiplayer action? For example: You can play it via wifi and bluetooth. A small dungeon, only a few levels deep with the Sword on the lowest level. Up to 4 players can go for the sword and now have not only the enemy monsters as an obstacle, the other players also are hunting the sword down. Winner is the player, who manages to get out of the dungeon alive and with the sword. At the time he is holding the sword, he is visible on the map. Players can kill each other all the time and grab the sword from the dead body, if someone holds it. If a player leaves the game, another one can join. And - for this game mode there is a special worldwide highscore table.
We've discussed various multiplayer options for Sword of Fargoal... one is sort of like you describe, one is more like a board game, and one is like a beatemup. Who knows, maybe we'll do some of them down the road if it's in the cards.
I know I'm being a pain but could you please just give us an idea what the latest news is with the update? Is it done, is it nearly done, already submitted etc? Just want some news, not asking for much. Thanks.
heh, bluewomble88... Lots of new stuff, and we will be submitting within a week. HOW'S THAT MAN? Hopefully Apple approves us quickly and you'll be playing a new Sword of Fargoal next week.

Any tips or anything? I have lost my first two games because i kept being teleported to floor 7 at a low level.
Ace_97, You think there is a possibility you may be falling down a pit? A pit typically goes down a few dungeon floors, so that may be it. You will see a rope you can climb back up to your previous level, and there you will be more evenly matched and be able to gain some more experience levels before descending again into the dungeon depths! -- Jeff McCord
