I think it's modifying now, I tried downloading in my store and it did not ask to confirm purchase. It's a super lucky day, if you're getting it for free.

But I only tried downloading AFTER I saw you guys having trouble with it. I'm one of the early adopters and I can only say that dev is doing himself a great injustice by making the game free, even only for 10 seconds..
I wish the alert would tell you how much you're being charged. I tried downloading it straight onto my iPod and it said it's currently being modified.
Hmm, not necessarily. Some people may not particularly like this genre of game, or not know it. Offering it free for a short time brings more players onboard, especially players you might not have sold to in the first place. Those players increase the audience and buzz for any future games.
This was on the list of games to vote for on FreeAppCalendar, it wouldn't surprise me if it received the most votes... At any rate, I honestly don't feel at all upset at having paid for this game when I did. I've felt that way about other games, but this is a seriously high-quality game, with an admirably active and engaged developer, and I'm glad to have supported it.
Just let me download it for free without the warning. Appshopper said the price changed 56 minutes ago.

Gear Gone Hmm, decided to go easy on myself and this week I've played two games in Squire mode. Heros were both way built up in level and enchantment. But I died anyway. I thought that when a squire died, he would be able to regain gear and other stuff, didn't someone say that. I was returned to a temple and then went back to the places where death struck. But nothing was delivered (thank you Bob Dylan). Did I fail to do something post-death or did someone tell a big lie? Will probably go back to normal difficulty and live with no hope of resurrection. But the question remains.
Hey guys! Yeah, Fargoal is free today (Sunday) through Free App Calendar, so grab it, and spread the word! The more people know about Fargoal, the more Fargoal will grow... we have lots planned, so we thought this would be a great thing to do to get the word out, get people *knowing* about our game, and also support Free App Calendar, which is a great site. We're also working hard on the next update which we'll submit tomorrow assuming we get the last little issues knocked down. Nothing earth-shattering, but you know I always like to add a little something if I can. Doffie, well your stuff should be there, but there is always a chance that somebody grabbed it! If you want to test this out for yourself, just start a new Squire mode game, get killed, see how she drops a pouch of stuff, and then you can go back and pick up your stuff. So... if stuff isn't there, then likely someone is walking around with it.
