so, i never baked anything in my life but i just had a look at the website and those cakes and cupcakes are just gorgeous. it inspired me to take part in this competition and i already got a load of ideas. over the christmas holidays i will be at my parents and will have time to get some baking tips from my mom. god this will be awful but so much fun... and i guess as long as it looks good and nobody actually has to eat it, i'll be fine. :D

Could you just put icing on a cardboard box and make it look like a cake? No one will be able to see the different!

that is why i would propose 'before-after' pictures for the contest. like
    1) whole cake
    2) half cake
    3) cake gone

how i see it, there will be people that will try the cardboard thingy and even if you can eat cardboard, i don't think that should really count for the contest. the whole thing is about making something delicious (or at least try to)! ;)

Haha, that's not exactly in the spirit of the contest :D.

The only rule is that it has to be something edible based on an iPhone App. Frosting is edible, so even if you only use frosting to make your entry, it would still be acceptable. All the entries so far have been cakes, but it's all about the creativity in the end, just doing something fun and tasty to show off an App you like.

The decoration is the hardest bit anyway, and the best part is eating the cake afterwards :).

We couldn't decide, so we're going to do more than one. They are cooling off now and waiting to be decorated.
