Not understanding the stars system I guess. So -- you get three stars for solving the puzzle with the recommended throws. If you use a hint it cost you a star but you still GET the stars on that level. If you solve it under the amount of throws you get a bonus star? I have gotten three stars on most I played. I used a couple hints just to see what they were like (and pointed out the arrow thing and orientation confusion) but STILL got 3 stars added to my total. I have reproduced this a few times. I solved one level with one throw (have to go back and see which one, my itouch is not with me at the moment) and only got 3 stars when the recommended throw was 2. And I haven't checked the leaderboards so maybe that is why I am confused - maybe I am talking apples and reading oranges. Much to do to catch up with the progress and learning curve here coming on late! Oh yeah and the orientation thing with the hints kind of makes he hints useless in some instances. In fact I killed Toshi using a couple because of where the arrow appeared and the orientation I was in.
Great input! Thanks Roger How is the overall difficulty feeling now? How many levels did you finish? If you want to start all over again, removing the app and installing it again would be the shortest way to do so.
First of all sorry for the late reply, I gave a talk yesterday about the dev process behind Toshi in a local tech conference. Anyway, you got it almost right 1) you get three stars for solving the puzzle with the recommended throws 2) you lose 3 stars for each hint you use (not 1) 3) If you solve it under the amount of throws you get a bonus star The thing is that if you used a hint, you lost 3 stars that can never be gained back unless you start the game from scratch (uninstall it). So if you are interested in being high on the leaderboards and finishing the game with the highest score possible, you better not use any hints. Is it clear now? let me know what you think.. But you do see the hints when you rotate the camera, right?
I'm so sorry for the delay, but a lot of things happened lately that forced us to take things a bit slowly. first, my partner yuval (& lead programmer) has a new daughter, so he's busy changing diapers I myself have a problem with my eye and I'm going to surgery this Wednesday, so wish me luck Anyway, there is a new version that I will send you in a short while. so stay tuned. Still waiting for some detailed reports from our new testers (please tell us what you think of the levels).
Hi there beta team, Save Toshi 5.0 is up! This is a small version and the only addition is zoom in/out capability (it was pretty damn hard to implement in the 3d environment but we made it), so let us know what you think of it. Backgrounds are still at work (almost there...) and will be added to the next upcoming build. This version has also been submitted to the app store and will be released free for 1 day once it's approved. It doesn't mean beta is over, only we also want to also measure some massive behavior stats (like which levels people skipped or stopped the game in). It would mainly help us fix problematic levels and make the flow of the game much smoother in later updates. I also want you to know that for marketing related reasons, this version has only 60 levels. The additional 40 will be released on future updates.
It does not respond at all? please try to restart and let me know if it happens again. If anybody else is experiencing the same problem, please let me know.
Just tried and found a BIG BIG problem in my iPhone 4 (iOS4.1). When I click on the right side of the screen, the ball will shoot at center. Thats' mean it is not shoot at the area I tap. I try to find somewhere to calibrate the screen but failed.
Yes, I had the same problem. I restarted the device and same. The app detect the point is far left than our actual tap area. I am trying to remove the app and install it again. Let you know soon.
Confirmed. Remove and reinstalled the app DOES NOT solve the problem. For example, when I tap at the upper right corner, the shoot will be at center. When I tap at mid-right side, the shoot will be lower center. So it will be impossible to tap on PAUSE and RESTART.
It seems to me we have an iPhone 4 issue with the new zoom feature that strangely enough, didn't appear on our device when we checked it. How about people with a 3gs? *** update - hopefully we will have a fixed version ready today, stay tuned and thanks for your patience!
OK, fixed version is up (same url, username and password). All of you who use an iPhone4 please help us check it. THX, you rock!
Awesome, thank you Roger! Like Ive said, I am going to have an eye surgery this Wednesday, so the thread will be quiet again for a few days. Until then, please let me know if the zooming works for you and if you have any other issues or objections. Thanks.
