Well, I'd just get Bad Company 2 and Red Dead. Wait for Killzone 3. Get Uncharted (1 and 2) first if you don't have them, though.
The Gamespot marathon was an absolute disaster. They had a guy playing a racing sim comparing it to Need For Speed. Not even Forza, NEED FOR SPEED. Sack the insignificant little worm.
Plus his car/track selection was bad. And I detected a hint of Westwood in his voice. He kept on using the words "like", "man", "totally", "buddy" and "awesome" which I found to be annoying.
Totally. I've been keeping up with dozens of leaked GT5 gameplay videos the past week and this guy managed to make the worst one of all. I'm fairly confident it's better than TDU2 though, since that game seems to be based on The Sims with it's online gambling minigames and social interaction. Plus the physics in the first one seemed to have been borrowed straight out of Tony Hawks Pro Skater.
Well personally I'm looking forward to TDU2 more. I love open world games and I don't care too much about racing and super realistic physics. It'll just be nice to cruise around Ibiza and Oahu with friends online. Also motorcycles will come later as DLC which means a lot to me. In fact I'd be more excited for the game if they replaced all the cars with bikes, but I can only dream about that happening.
I'm thinking of buying a racing game with a good offline multiplayer mode. How are GT5, NFS Hot Pursuit, and Modnation Racers?
I have Modnation and GT5. Modnation is great for offline multiplayer, 4 player split-screen, plus custom tracks, karts, and mods. Grand Turismo isn't good for offline multiplayer, all they have is a 2 player duel, where it's only you and the other person, not that great. So I'd suggest MNR. Unless NFS has something better (since I haven't played it yet). Wow, I got Sly Collection on Tuesday and GT5 on Wednesday. Sly is pure epicness, although I'm done with Sly 1 and probably near 1/2 the way through 2. GT5 is okay, I wanted to have slit-screen racing w/ bots, but sadly it's only you and the other player. Haven't really gotten a grip on the single player and don't understand everything yet (mainly because Sly's taking up my time). I also got my 1st Platinum Trophy from Sly 1. Sweet!
Thanks for the reply, but I decided to go with Need for Speed Hot Pursuit even though it doesn't have split-screen multiplayer. The limited edition (free online pass) version was on sale for $35 at Best Buy, so I just couldn't pass up on it. I'm still thinking of getting Modnation Racers sometime later though.
Most of them are unlocked already. You need to do the Top Gear Test Track and Nurburgring special events before you unlock those though.
How do you unlock more cars for Arcade mode in Grand Turismo 5? I definitely know that that's not all the cars that you should be able to race.
In GT Mode, any cars you set to Favorites will be playable in Arcade Mode. P.S. I've just been looking through a bunch of names for my B-spec driver (it chooses from an enormous random list) and I found A.Kim
Sweet! Gotta love thanksgiving week. Just got Enslaved for 25 bucks on amazon (not bad considering Heavenly sword still costs 30 bucks new 2 years after release!) Also, I've picked up about 12 games on steam for about 40 bucks. Good week for gaming.
Get a load of this: FYI: You can't use multiple cars in Photo Travel, that's me exercising some Photoshop skills there. I know the Lambo is a little too far back, but I did add a red tone to the side, as though it's reflecting the Ferrari.
