Ok, thanks. TDU2 = Test Drive Unlimited 2. I've had it pre-ordered for quite a while now. I remember playing the first game on my PSP and loving it, so I can't wait to play the sequel.
There's a specific reason you don't hear PS3 owners singing the praises of the Orange Box. It is by far the single worst port on the system. Of all the ports this generation, few have been messed up more than the Orange Box. It was handled by a completely different team, it's full of bugs, it's plagued with loading issues and the frame rate is pitiful. On PC/360 it's an amazing package, unfortunately the PS3 version was ruined. There is a patch, but it still pales in comparison.
Ah. Ya, the PS3 does get some pretty shoddy ports. Fallout and Bayonetta are supposed to be significantly worse on the PS3, and if you throw in the Orange Box as well, those are 3 of the highest rated games of recent years which fell short on the PS3. It's odd, considering the PS3 is actually supposed to have better graphical qualities (if only slightly) than the XBox.
Odd, there have been an unusual amount of non-PS3 owners or owners-to-be in the thread. Plus a flame war not all that long ago. Is our thread being hijacked? It has better textures while 360 has better blacks. The shoddy ports have nothing to do with its graphical capabilities. It is just the lazy developer.
Part of the problem is the XBox has a higher user base than the PS3; the developers don't spend enough time building games specifically for the PS3's capabilities, and rather stick to cutting corners to save time and money. Quite unfortunate. Yes. Your thread is being hijacked. Grab the guns and missiles, it's time for total Internet war. So more people are posting here. Since when did that become a bad thing?
If the PS3 had come out at the same time and price as the 360 it would have sold bazillions more. That's quite unfortunate because then everyone bought 360's and said no to a secondary console when PS3 dropped to $299. And yet PS3 has the most/best exclusive games too. I'd better duck and cover behind a flame shield then.
For those who own BFBC2: does the 4 player offline multiplayer have any sort of unlocking or leveling system? If so, can other players also have their progress saved along with mine, unlike black ops?
Oh, lol. I failed. I meant call of duty 4: modern warfare. Does ITS offline multiplayer save my friends unlocks or achievements along with mine? Cuz in black ops my friends' would be erased. Thats the only thing putting me off from buying black ops.
Hmm... I'm going to preorder LBP2. Is it worth getting the collectors edition? I'm tempted to get it...
11 costumes (Toy Story Alien, Tron dude, Jak, Daxter, Ratchet, Clank, 4 animals, and a muppet. Sackboy plush Bookends 5 Exclusive PSN avatars
Makes me want to preorder LBP2. It'll be expensive though since I'm already preordering mortal kombat 9 kollectors edition.
it may be covered in this thread, but it's too frickin long and the search sucks sooooooo.... what are some of the best downloadable ps3 games? not add ons, but games.... thanks!
Castle Crashers is a fun game if you have friends/siblings to play with you Pacman DX is totally fun and totally trippy Battlefield 1943 (I think): awesome fps with huge maps Fat Princess: goofy capture the flag game with blood Joe Danger: not quite sure but it got good reviews Flower: nifty game where you flow in the wind
Looks pretty good for a special edition. Although by now I feel I've spent enough on costumes for LBP1... they're not as exciting as they once were. The plush is also available to buy separately in stores (not sure if it's 100% identical but it's official) so it's not really exclusive. The bookends look awesome though... the geek in me imagines sandwiching my games in there, despite not actually having the extra space to store them. Sackboy plushies at Firebox.com: 12cm: 30cm:
I don't see how people like sackboy or find him cute. He creeps me out. The night I tried the LB2 demo, I had a nightmare where there was like a sackboy character (but green instead of brown) and he killed my friend. The funny thing is that I rarely have nightmares, and I've seen some of the most gory, disgusting images and videos possible on the internet without having any problems.
That's pretty strange... He's quite adorable to me. Everyone has their own fears though. Dead Space freaked the crap out of me.
