Yes you need the base game The Quest cause from what I understand you can't transfer your Quest Gold save file to the other expansions that are not included in the Quest Gold. I am hoping that this will change. : ) But maybe programming wise it is not possible.

Is the whole shebang with the expansions really 200 hours long?

This may sound crazy, but that many hours is turn off for me... :(

Well, then don't buy all the expansions. :)

Just buy The Quest and play that. Also you don't have to do all the side quests. You can finish the main quest much sooner than that.

And after you've played The Quest, you can still decide that you want more and buy the expansions one by one later. :)

That was my original idea, but the sale is tempting... :p

If nothing else I'd say definitely grab The Quest Gold at this price. It's a huge value at 10 bucks and at 6 it's an absolute steal. If you are at all interested in western RPGs in the style of the Elder Scrolls series or the old Wizardry games there is no way you could possibly look at this as money poorly spent.

Had the lite on my phone for ages now, without ever giving the game a real try, decided to play it now, and it's fun, so got me The Quest Gold. I keep getting greeted by a popup saying 'This movie format is not supported.' when I start it up though. Can play the game just fine regardless.

Playing on a iPhone 3g, not jailbroken, version 3.1.2

That's just a little mixup with the Chillingo video. :) It'll be rectified in the next update, which should come out very soon.

You can also switch off the video entirely in the settings. ;)

BTW, if you Questers didn't noticed, we just released our new game, a little dungeon crawler called Dungeoned. Here is a thread about it with iTunes link, video, etc:

    http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=46960

If you sometimes feel you don't have the time or patience for going deeply into The Quest with all its complicated quests and difficult to understand rules, but you still want to have some monster bashing dungeon fun, this is your game. : )

Just finished the game last night, thank you for a great experience! I own about 150 games and this is the only one that I still play since I got my iPhone in August. I'm very much looking forward to play the expansions, I'm still wondering around trying to see if I missed anything.

I know this game is getting a little older now but it's still the best and most complete open world RPG that I played on my phone, very pleased with the support as well, playhaven is very handy! I can't wait to see what's next for Redshift, thanks.

I just have to say I am absolutely loving this game!
Undercroft gave me a nice easy introduction to this genre. But once I got stuck (in an insanely huge dungeon with multiple levels) I decided to plunge and try "The Quest"
    WOW It's pure awesome!

So right now the best iphone games (in me own opinion)
    Jet Car Stunts
    The Quest
    Angry Birds

Hi guys, I just purchased Quest Gold to support devs more and I put together what I think is an essential guide for questing :) I got all of this stuff from another site but I uploaded them all together to make it easier to download, so here's the link I can't wait to start playing again!

Played through the quest and all it's expansions finally! Great game, had me stuck for 2 days playing nothing else than The Quest!

One question, are you considering porting Legacy to the iPhone?

I was able to finish the main storyline, and was still working on the expansions... until something went wrong with my iPhone and had to restore my files. The restoration process failed, however, so now I'm starting again from scratch... I'm unable to play the expansions yet since they require high-level characters. I don't mind playing it all over again for yah if ye want! heheheh...

The link that madam_octa provided is pretty much everything that you need to finish the game, especially if you get stuck somewhere. You could also ask help and advice from people here, especially that the devs occasionally visit this forum :)
