1. They are orc slavers and you have to have high persuade and stealth. Then you just talk to the leader in their camp near phryn 2. Get a good lockpick and boost your skill in lockpicking. Then do some bad stuff in mithria to raise your crime level. After that talk to any guard and that will get you in prison where you will find rubor 3. To defeat the cyclops king you have to get an enchanted blade, try using the blade on him, and when it doesn't work go to see the millers again and I think that you'll manage on your own from there
1 - Don't remember. However, if this is the 'Reeks' quest, DO NOT give the map to the goblin leader. It will fail the quest, as well as leaving it permanently unsolvable and broken. Learned this the hard way; it's been haunting my otherwise perfect quest log ever since.. 2 - You have to get thrown in jail . Go attack an NPC and then talk to a guard. Clearing the game with the evil ending can also permanently break this quest, as you are then Evil Overlord of the World and can not be thrown in jail. 3 - Somewhere southish (I think..) of the cyclops cave is a NPC who will give you a weapon to kill the cyclops. Go back to the cave and try to use the new weapon; it will still fail, but you have to do this anyways to progress. Return to the NPC and they will fix it. Go back to the cyclops and you can now kill him with it. edit: arg, posted too late!
NOOOO I beat the game, so I can't go to jail, a.k.a save Rubor (I picked the good ending) On another note, i started the Islands of Fire and Ice, very much enjoying that. Not nearly as unbalanced as the original Quest. I have no desire whatsoever to use the crossbow since my ultimate blade is good for now. I have a heavy crossbow for a moments notice though... about 50 percent through the expansion I'm guessing. Again, very good little thing. Still have 12 dollars left in iTunes account, might pick up another expansion when I am done... I will rant later when I find I cannot beat certain quests due to my stupidity/the game being broken because I made dumb mistakes.
You guys are making expansion too quickly for me to catch up with the ones I already have! I love that you always know when a new expansion is coming because of the updates to the other expansion and the game. Whenever they get updated I get excited.
HOLIV is Out HOLIV is out. : ) I'm going to sleep. Maybe someone could put up some screenshots? Otherwise I'll be back. : )
Hello Questers! We have a special sale now, celebrating the release of HOL IV: The Quest is only $2.99 while The Quest Gold is only $4.99. Get them now before the sale ends! : )
So I'd been thinking about this game and the series and noticed they're on sale this weekend. I've never played anything like this before, so I don't really know what the gameplay is like. I tried the lite, and after about 20 minutes hadn't gotten to any combat, watched a youtube video and still haven't gotten a sense of whether the combat is turn-based or how exactly it works. I'm sure this thread is full of people looking for this kind of information, but after reading the first 5 pages and finding nothing like that mentioned, I figured I'd just post the question. I'm sure that the core app would be sufficient for me in terms of hours of gameplay (unless maybe I get really, really into it) but I was thinking about getting the "Gold" edition if it appears it will get more expansions added in the future. I know, sounds really greedy to say, but I am just curious because the thing that caught my eye about this series to begin with was the sci-fi/space expansion.
If you're wondering about the combat, it is turn-based. Actually, just walking around the world is turn-based. It's basically like your character is walking on a massive grid, and every step you take you move into a different grid. When you are close to an enemy, the movement slows down, so basically you take a step, use a weapon, cast a spell, or use a potion, and that the enemy makes its move.
I would highly recommend getting the Gold edition - it's a better deal on the expansions even if they go on sale again. It doesn't sound like more expansions will be added. Play the demo. If you like the game, you will probably enjoy having the first couple of expansions ready to go. If you are mostly interested in the sci-fi theme, Asteroids is playable by itself, with a stock (already leveled) character - though I'm not sure if that character would be usable directly in Asteroids 2 (has anyone taken an expansion character into another expansion?)
Heart attack! The real reason why I came back into the thread - thankfully, Continue Game worked, and when I went to go save my game, my saves were present. (Phew! )
Thanks for the answers guys/girls. I am going to spring for the gold edition, because I love turn-based RPGs and if my math is correct, when you consider the current sale and the built-in savings of the gold edition, it's sort of like getting everything for about 30% of the regular price.
I have been looking at The Quest for awhile now (reminds me of Eye of the Beholder) and had a question about the expansions. Do you need to keep The Quest installed in addition to the expansion or can you import you character and delete the main game? I ask because in the descriptions of the expansions it says, "Go see so and so to begin the new expansion." I'm going to get the core game and was also interested in the Escape from Asteroids expansion. Just wondering how all this works since apparently it isn't just DLC. Thanks for your help!
I'm hopeing at some point all the expansions will be in one package. I have the main game already so I don't want to buy it again through the gold edition, and I have the mitheral horde one from the day it was free, but nothing else. To buy all the expansions only is 15 bucks as of right now. I sure hope the dev thinks about this.
I followed Drelbs' advice the other day and got the Gold version and I am definitely enjoying the game so far, seems really expansive and complex. It's kicking my butt right off though, and seems a little overwhelming, so I may have to read one of these online guides a bit just to get going.
You enable the expansion and then you can delete the expansion and you play everything from the main game, or you can start a new game with prebuild character within the expansion.
Thanks for the info, madam_octa. Thrilled to see a game like this on the iPhone, and so well supported. With so many expansions, I don't think I'll ever need another RPG for a long, long time.
We are trying. : ) ) ) ) ) ) And the most recent expansions we're working on have some interesting new graphics. And puzzles. : ) And venues. : ) Thank you. : ) I think at some point it would be wonderful if all the expansions could be in one package but since we haven't stopped making them yet and don't know exactly when we will...that package could be kinda big. : )
How open ended is this game? Is there any sense of organization in how to complete quests and storylines? I don't mind open ended RPGs to a point, buti also don't like games that are overwhelming like Morrowind. Also does the game have some sort of quest log system to help you keep track of what you are doing and where to go? I'm trying to decide if this game is for me as I love RPGs.
