Ok, I bought The Quest Gold, but used a bit time to Get into it. Now, I have reached Mithria and is on a good way to complete the main story. But for later, I just Wonder how this will work: if I buy, lets say HoL 3, can I use my gold app and use that expansion with the same save file?
I haven't done this with Gold, but the answer is supposed to be yes - just like the original version - boot the expansion and choose "enable HOL3 in The Quest" Otherwise, the Gold version would be much worse than the regular version. (Regular version has a better icon IMHO )
Tnx. I have beginned to play much more recently. When there is 6 hour long car trips, I just have to lower the screen brightness (to improve battery time) and play out the battery. Before, I really struggled to Get to Vastares. Now I managed to reach it on lvl 6 as a Derth. The reason of why I didnt play much before was that it was too hard to reach new areas. Now, I still struggle and use A LOT of potions. And I mean A LOT! I seem to swallow sp, especially when my only real source of damage is from spells. They Are easy to Get though. The card game is easy as the necromancer, and I easily win 4-5 times before I might loose once. The Gold Icon is the coolest, btw or, I really like the Fire and Ice icon the most.
Be sure to turn off the freely-rotating orientation to save on battery. Also, something I learned a bit later in the main quest - go off the beaten path! I also had a hard time to/from Vastares, then realized I had a bunch of map I hadn't trekked through, and found a bunch of much easier monsters (and a few quests) I wish I had ran into earlier...
Lol, you can level up a lot in the early areas as the monsters respawn. : ) And if you hug the shore you can sneak into Mithria at a relatively low level--where if you have enough gold delicious stuff awaits you in the shops. Get the high power stuff and go back and beat the baddies. : ) There was once a race in one of the forums to see who could sneak into Mithria first. It is possible. : )
Someone (Lance) once played the game as a monk type he created in his wonderful imagination with only wooden items and monklike items. So I would say yes you can. : ) Wooden staff and shield--but you have to enchant ac, resist magic, resist paralysis.... etc. : ) You should have different costumes for different challenges. : ) Then just change clothes.
It's best to play through the game a either a warrior or mage first and then go back and try your imagination in a new save file, like Lance who chose to create the "monk" player. : ) This is one game where you can use your imagination to expand the game. We build on players' imaginations all the time.
I created a warrior when I tried out the lite version last night. They typically are the easiest to get started with until you figure out the magic system and such. Reading some of the other comments about magic, do warriors have any magic abilities I need to worry about?
Do you mean the monsters? You need to increase your resistance to magic. I play as a Nogur. I'm a hack em slash em fighter. But I also have a nice stash of wands and I have some nice bows and arrows. For fighting some monsters it's helpful to have bows and arrows so you can take them out at a distance--some monsters are resistant to magic but the arrows sink them at a distance. : ) This is especially helpful in the HOLII expansion and onward. : )

Ok, need some help. Decided to start over as my character had a bad custom Class. Ok, I'm going to play as a Derth. How ever, I dont know what I should use as main skills. I will use Att. magic, Heal Magic, Prot. Magic and I need help with the last 3... I was thinking Persuade, since on the last one I had to train persuade a lot. But I love the card game, so I dont care that much. But I Wonder if I should try using a bow or a blade or something... Need help with it, please answer.
WOW this game is fun. I love how I've barely even scratched the surface and have a full game to complete, three expansions, and several still to pickup if I make it that far. Apparently there are still several more in the pipeline. This game may never get deleted off my device!
The first hero of lukoyorme is really hard for some reason. I blew threw islands Fire and ice but this is making me take my sweet time. Rage.
You will find Hero of Lukomorye expansion easier if you get the great armor and weapons in the magic school first. Do Baba Manya's quest to find her grandson (it sadly will be remains) and she will open the bridge for you. To be a good Derth, train environment magic. Put a lot of points into int. By the way, for Quest lovers of all kinds, there is a wiki now by evildonald. I hope it's not inappropriate for me to mention it here-Redshift also refers to it on there homepage. It's not a forum--it's a wiki loaded with maps and knowledge. : ) http://thequest.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page If mention of that is inappropriate, moderators, please edit my post. Thanks. Just trying to be helpful.
Tnx. It wasnt smart to make a dual wielding, mercantile, heavy armor/weapon, Persuade, attack magic Derth
You sound like you have the makings of a fine battle mage if you put more points into environment magic and int. : )
Would you like to have an item named after you in HOLV? Let me know and let me know what kind of item. : ) Gathering names/items up to June 15th. : ) I always need names for items. : )
