It's offered by the Innkeeper in Vastares City Centre, I think. Also, if you want faster answers, post your questions on Playhaven. Me and a few others check there regularly. You can actually access Playhaven in game, by tapping the orange pentagon thing.
alright found her! and solved the quest, now, only 2 quests to go in Vastares, the Mages gloves and the Holy Chrism, although I don't know where the Mage Lair is or the Crypt of Vastares is, any suggestions?
Elendil has uploaded our newest expansion to Apple: The Quest: The Cursed Chess Set--fondly known as Ratz! : ) Entry from Matras--yes, Matras. You should start a new player and can fight with magic again. Intended start level 1-4. There has been a mana leak in the world which you are asked to plug among your other missions, and this has caused an extreme loss of levels. There is one very high level dungeon for the higher level players. : ) We hope you will enjoy it. Thanks to Michele Laconto for the screen shot.
Crypt of Vastares is in the Vastares Cemetary (Southwest of Vastares), but remember that quest has to be completed within 24 in-game hours of receiving it. The Mage Lair is in the...Red Forest, I think. It's south of Vastares.
Thanks, Kaos, i forgot that having my persuade up would have effects on different people, and the Redwood Forest place, I had remembered when playing this game on my old iPhone about that gate and looked all over for it, but I guess I wa more in the western part and missed it, glad to see that my memory wasn't completely faulty, problem is, that I was never able to finish this game the first time around because of the dragons in the dragon lair, they were killing me so fast I simply couldn't kill them, hopefully this time around I'll be able to finish that part!
So... what do I do with Bokor's map? The map directs me to look in the northern part the Silver Peaks caves for a treasure, "but you must have good eyesight to find it". I thought I'd cleaned out the caves back when I killed the Cyclops King and I don't recall any special treasure in the north part of the caves. (There was the Treasury, but that was in the southern part of the caves.) Is there something I'm missing and/or forgetting? What treasure does the map mean?
A tip for when you reach the dragons again: tell the Dragon King "No, you will serve ME!" He'll then tell the other dragons to stand back, making it a far easier one-on-one fight. I think he's referring to the treasure in the center of the chasm. Once every switch has been flipped, you can reach a shelf there. Later in the game a small dungeon opens up in there where you can get Mithril for the Mithril Armour.
Why the hell doesn't the game tell u if u need more skill in persuade so u can continue a mission. During the heirs inheritance u pretty much just come to a dead end and have to look for a walkthrugh unless u have 30 pursuade. Why why? I don't get it.
Why do I keep getting arrested in Vastares? First some lady said I killed her husband (I think?) and they locked me up...then I apparently poisoned the madame at the brothel. Also, any tips on how to get rich quick in the game? My equipment keeps breaking and I don't have any money to replace it. I have to keep buying healing potions just to not die constantly.
That'd kinda blow the suspension of disbelief. I feel for you - I remember getting stuck on that as well - I was sure that I had to break into the jeweler's house at night or whatnot to find evidence against her... It was interesting that all of a sudden I had half a dozen people "I don't know why I'm telling you this, but..." when my persuade got high enough. I think a few people have clues like "I'm not going to be able to convince you for now..." in the dialogue. You've got a crime rating/reputation - you can either pay the guards directly, or find the guy that will clear your name (or do jail time...) Buy hammers and repair it yourself!, it's a lot cheaper! Same goes for brewing potions - pick all the flowers you can, make potions, use some and sell the ones you don't need. Potions usually sell for a lot more than the sale value of the ingredients.
Yeah, this game is great as it doesn't hold your hand and has a ton of different things to do and explore, but as a noob it really is testing the my ability to progress. I keep not wanting to invest money into anything because I don't want to choose the wrong thing and screw myself over later. As to the arrests, I guess there is some narrative reason why I keep getting blamed for these crimes that I didn't think I was committing. It's confusing though since I have about 15 different side-quests that I'm trying to figure out all at once. Another (dumb) question--what does intelligence do for a character? Just cause you to gain levels more quickly?
I love how this game pulls you in multiple directions at once. Confusing at first, but refreshing because it's so different from other games. Don't sweat having so many side-quests, some things take a while... Intelligence affects your Magic Attack, Magic Defense and SP stats. It also modifies intelligence-based skills. Here's some other good beginner's hints - skills that you don't start out with COST DOUBLE. I didn't realize this until I got stuck with an odd point I "couldn't spend." Also, don't be afraid to go off the beaten path! I found the game got very hard very fast - ends up there were a ton of little things I missed by not exploring. Start in the NE part of the continent, look at your map and try to fill in all the blanks. Then explore the SE part. You should find some neat stuff and gain some XP that will help you out. Save when you return to safe areas, then if you get slaughtered you can reload.
Nice tips, thanks a lot. Definitely a great game, unlike any other I've played on the device. The sense of scope is unrivaled, and while it's definitely a challenge, that scope is what is keeping me excited about the game and keeps me coming back to it. I also keep thinking about how cool some of these expansions look. Can't wait to get to a high enough level to play the space themed expansion.
I'm stuck in the woods outside of vastares and I'm being gang banged by trolls, how do I lose them bc I do t have the health potions to fight? Nevermind I got free. Are there really pick pockets?'i'm sure I lost a good chunk of change in vastares. Ugh I'm only playing this until two worlds 2' is released
Intelligence is the basis for a lot of things. For example, the higher your intelligence, the more marks you can make in any world. That's a good enough reason to increase your intelligence. At Redshift's website, there's a downloadable guide to the basics. : ) Intelligence affects a lot of other things. You can read about it there. : ) Each of the primary attributes dominates other things.
Just a note to everyobody here; you will get much faster responses if you post your questions on the Playhaven boards.
Jeez. Playhaven is getting quite popular, huh? While true cat/redshift don't post here a /ton/, they do quite a bit (especially considering how crazy-busy they are).I do, however, check this site /multiple/ times a day, and am happy to answer questions at any time. If you don't get a reply as fast as you'd like, you can PM me, (which is linked to my email) and I'll have some answers ASAP!!
Kaos, thanks so much for your response to the Dragon quest, that will help a lot! Now, I am somewhat stuck with the Silver Caves quest, I located and operated 3 switches, but that doesn't seem to get me very far, cannot get to the middle of the path where I see a ledge with something in the mouth of the ledge, how many switches and how do I get to them all? And I did read about the rock with the book under it, that was a help! I seem to remember that there are some walls with hidden switches that are visible to a degree, haven't run into any yet though. Also, about the mage trainer and his orcs, do I need to kill them around now, I thought there might be a later quest that requires it... thanks!
