Can the veterans for The Quest clarify me one thing? The expansions... Are they blended into the main world as side quests - just like the DLCs in oblivion-, or do they appear as a different land, somewhat independent chapters of the game? Thanks guys! I'm really on the fence with this game, I love a deep, engaging experience, but I hate the graphics
The later. The expansions are self contained lands with their own quests, NPCs and locations. They were designed to be played sequentially, after the main game. Their difficulty and storyline reflects this. (Except the latest one, which is for low level characters.) You can however take items from any expansion to any other (or the base game) and you can somewhat freely move between them (especially if you have the necessary teleport spells. )
Hey, thanks Elendil! ;-) I see you are part of the team in the game: Congratulations on the success of The Quest! It certainly looks like a terrific experience from what I've played in the lite version!
Islands of Ice and Fire Hero of Lukomorye I Hero of Lukomorye II Mithril Horde Hero of Lukomorye III Escape from Asteroids Hero of Lukomorye IV This is the release order, by the way, and the expansions are listed in this order on our website. The latest expansion "Cursed Chess Set" is the odd one out, because it's for level 1 characters.
Could you give us a level breakdown for each expansion, including the Cursed Chess Set? I would like to start a new character once I get my new Ipod 4G and would like to plow through everything in order.
The recommended levels are in the expansion descriptions on our site. But if you go through in order (and not skip too many sidequests) your character will level just right for each expansion.
Well, I went ahead and gathered up the level information for anyone else who wanted to know, since we're kind of on our own on this one... CCS - Low Levels (??) Fire & Ice - 14 Luko I - 22 Luko II - 32 Mithril - 35 Luko III - 38 Asteroids - 40 Luko IV - 45
This is my opinion of what is most comfortable--just talking about my comfort level and looking in the editor to see what the monsters you meet first are leveled at. : ) CCS - Level 2-5 (we were trying to establish a brave new world where you can fight with magic easily again and your repair hammers don't break so often) : ) Fire & Ice - 15 Luko I - 22 Luko II - 35 Mithril - 60 Luko III - 90 Asteroids - 100 Luko IV - 180 Asteroids II 180 (it's in testing) : )
So how does one get from level 100 to 180 in the space of one expansion? Does Escape from Asteroids buff you that much? Damn...I need to get my level up! I spend so much time just wandering around...If I ever need to go on a super strict budget I'll just buy every Quest expansion and play nothing but that for about 10 years or so.
Ok... I'm a bit confused on this new expansion... Let's say we are brand new to the game... Should we be playing chess set before the main campaign or do we begin a main campaign and jump into chess set asap? Or what? (being that I don't even know how moving a character between them works since I don't even have any version, I am even more stumped)
Is there some sort of a beginner's guide to this game somewhere? I've had The Quest Gold and a couple expansions sitting on my iPod for a while (I bought them when they were on sale as an impulse buy), and never really started playing it. It's all a little daunting now...
