The outcast responds if your mind magic is greater than 34.

The door is blue and is in about the middle to left of middle north in the Thieves' Guild Lair. Maybe you opened it already?

So how good is this game? Is it elder scrolls 1 and 2 quality? Cause I bought it for my iPad and played it for a bit and it seems like a cool game but The controls are really hard to figure out cause you can't turn part ways but in 45 degree angles. But is the game worth investing time into? How good is it compared to early ultimasor elder scrolls? And is it worth getting it over ravensword?

Thanks, Cat, my mind magic level is 45, that should be enough! The thief's lair doors that I have not been able to unlock are a red door with a trap in front, and 3 metal gates/doors, close by, would have guessed that the key I got from the head thief would allow me to open the red door since it is red. I just noticed that I have 2 of these keys, perhaps something has corrupted my save files?

OK, an update, I can open the metal doors with my lockpick, but the red door will not open, I am guessing I need a key... any idea where the key is?

It's programmed that way. : ) It's a really interesting question but that's the way it is. : ) Run to an inn and sleep there. : ) Hopefully the monster will have had too many beers at the inn and have moved on. ; )

Just for my personal pleasure, I'm looking for games on the ipod---notice I have a humble ipod--and nothing more--that are fascinating rpg games that are better than the Quest and I'm playing one that got good reviews, but my avatar got lost in limbo as the controls are really lousy so I have been twisting and turning the knob and my guy is invisible----in the Quest you always know where you are--even if you are just a sword--you're out there and can do something. : )

And I think there is somewhat over 300 hours if not more of gameplay, if you include all the expansions and people seem to be happy wandering our worlds.

I for one have been, sometimes it gets a bit hard and/or I get stuck, but thanks to your answer to my question on the dragon dungeon, I was able to beat him. It appears as though he dropped something that I cannot get to, another dragon is sitting on the item, and if I attack him I get pounded! Do I need that item and do I need to kill all the dragons? thanks!

Hi, Cat, I was able to finish this game, wow, what fun! The dragon dungeon was a bit tough, but I found out that I did not have to kill the individual dragons, just the dragon king. I understand that there was several new side quests put into The Quest, one that I know of was the dungeon at the end of the abandoned pier, do you know what the others were? Thanks!

First of all, I loved this game, and I've said as much before. I've bought every expansion as soon as I realized it was out. There are a couple issues that have just been bugging me ever since I got CC (though these are applicable through most of your expansions,) enough that I can't enjoy it anymore. Here they are:

    1. NPC names - I appreciate the fact that you want to give your beta-testers and other people that helped with the game some recognition, but giving characters their "internet names" completely ruins the theme of the game. While playing a fantasy RPG, I don't want to get a quest from Tux1212. Why not give the character the person's real name, or at least make it look somewhat thematically congruent? Instead of yankeefan why not call the character 'Yaynki Fann' or something like that?

    2. Out of place jokes - Referencing Runescape, in addition to not being terribly funny, just doesn't fit with the game.

3.Showing that you can pick locks even when you can't - This isn't really a huge problem, but it is annoying.

Anyway, 1 is my biggest complaint (the other two aren't really a problem) and it would make me very happy if you'd do something about it. I'm not going to leave a one-star review if you don't, obviously, but I really do have a hard time enjoying the game as it is now, and I hope you appreciate that.

    Thanks

Just a reminder: all expansions to date (except the first, official expansion) had been created by Zarista Games. So you'd have to take your observations up with Catacomber and Dr. Vlad (the creators). ;) They have a website (catacomber.com), with a forum. But Catacomber occasionally reads this forum too.

I personally wouldn't do such things, but especially Catacomber seems to be really enjoying it and I won't fault her. Each to his/her own. :)

Yes, I realize that. I posted here because Catacomber had just a few days ago. I suppose I should've posted there as a courtesy anyway, but oh well.

Is Redshift planning on making any more expansions, or porting Legacy over? (I don't actually know anything about Legacy, so that might have been a ridiculous question. Be patient with me.)

We are working on a new game. It'll be (very loosely) based on the card game in The Quest. But it'll be much more involved. :) (Please don't ask more, we'll certainly will release info about it when it's near release.)

We'd have loved to release Legacy on the iPhone, but the programmer who created it had left us a long time ago and we don't have the source code. :(

That's the expansion made by CivilStriker who won the Quest expansion contest. It is not by Zarista Games and I have not tested it. I fixed some glitches that CivilStriker, the young author needed done and I suggest you keep a save file somewhere and play it at your own risk. The monsters have been found by a few players to be very hard and you run through armor and weapons at a great rate. There were some bizarre things that happened from highly enchanted items and I'm not sure the enchant levels are completely stable, so again, keep a save file somewhere and play it at your own risk. I won't have the time to fix any glitches or help with updates cause my plate is too full right now so if you have only one save file and get into trouble, you could have real problems.

Yeah, I'm trying different methods of progressing and I'm having problems with the wolves that appear in the very beginning just after you teleport... The archers seem to be fine though, just the wolves seem to kill me in one/two hit, pre-made character or not.
And there's a crash bug on loading.
Edit: Seems beefing up strength and endurance, using a fighter class helps.
But I have to repair my weapons every 5 minutes... The durability of them is too low!

He's a young game maker and your feedback should be helpful. You do get to use a crossbow again in this expansion by CivilStriker so that's a plus. : )

Just keep a separate clean save file. : ) It's good to support young gamemakers. : ) But if you have a problem of any kind, it's good to let them know what it is so they can fix it and learn. The learning part is just as important for them as the playing part is for you. : ) As long as you have that safe save file.

Someone asked if it's possible at all to kill Demon--I would say no as here are his stats:

    Min and max damage: 32000
    AC 24464
    HP 20000
    Strength 24464
    Dex 24464
Endurance and this is the killer: 28928
    Int 32000
    Pers 32000

I posted these stats at Playhaven and for some reason, my post was removed.

You can try but I don't see it with those stats. I don't think CivilStriker intended Demon to ever be killed. : )
