I am trying to find out how to access the ladders in the Abandoned mine and in the Goblin Dwarf Cave. Does anyone know how to do that?
Ladders and monsters Strider, those ladders hanging from the ceiling are just decorative. You can't go up. Greenhornet9, The monsters in the dungeons, for example, the Cyclops, do respawn. You need to leave (not just leave and go right back in, but go to other areas, and then go back) and they come back. The Eyes in the Holy Man cave don't come back, though. When you go back into the Witch Queen's place, the monsters do come back there. So I guess the answer is that they respawn in most places...the Holy Man's Cave being the only exception I can think of off the top of my head.
As krazyfingerzz mentioned, with a few exceptions most dungeons respawn. Playing the game, I found that it generally takes about seven days (in-game days) for enemies to regenerate within the dungeons.
The Witch Queen is in the Fen of Death quadrant in a hollow log entrance surrounded by corpses on poles. BTW close to that is an area with a red and a green orb to heal and cure yourself. Surrounded with plaque and poison swamps so be careful. I'm trying to get to the queen who is obviously behind the huge locked doors. I'm not strong enough to pick the lock and none of the spells work. Moved on to other things for the time being, but I'm still perplexed by it. So if anyone knows what is needed to get through those doors, please let me know.
I'm still in the first village, but have accumulated a bunch of items I don't want to sell. Is there any place to store items?
You can find any spot that you'll remember and drop the items. They seem to stay indefinitely. I have also gone back into the starting hollow tree cave and placed items on the shelf in there and came back later to find them still there. The only down side to that is that the creatures respawn over time and you will have to fight them all over again. I am so strong and protected now that the last time I went in and around the village of Matras I had no difficulty killing anything with minimal damage. That's how I would do it. For example, I ended up with 2 copies of a particular book that I could not sell because they are quest items. I dropped them right in front of a booksellers door and they are still there. I have no use for them anymore. I found that you get so much of the same equipment from killing creatures and such, that it's senseless to not sell any unneeded inventory. Of course, I, like you, was very cautious about it in the beginning, afraid that I would sell something I needed and not be able to get it back, but over time I found that its next to impossible. Cheers and good luck to you. I hope someone answers my post so I can move on.
hey guys. Ive had this game for a bit and im playing as the undead race. Unfortunately, with the decrease in magic resistance for them, i get completely owned by shamans and witches, or i at least take a lot of damage before killing them. Anybody got any tips for increasing magic resistance?
A dev said that the item placed around will be erased after a week. And they are working on a feature that let you store your items in the inn (next update?).
I share your pain! It took me ages to work this out. All because I walked right past the key! I didn't find it until I retraced my steps for the second time. Which included going back and talking to the quest giver, the witch in the hut, etc! I'm on my iphone and I am having trouble changing the text colour so I can't do the highlight for spoiler thing - so be warned SPOILER below: Make sure you explore all areas in the witch queens realm. To the north of the locked door is a teleporter. This is directly east of the treasure room. It's behind a magic field. You turn off the field and teleport to the crypt and the key is on a statue (the kind of statue that normally holds books - I didn't see the key and I thought it was a statue I'd taken a book from. So I only found it when. I was ready to give up and ask for help! I retraced my steps one last time!!)
I'm checking and seem to remember having a similar problem. At one point I realized I had lost the witch's hammer and had to go to a saved file from before then, but I don't think that was it. I believe the key was dropped but I may have used a spell of strong unlock. Ultimately the room you need is one with a forcefield and pentagrams and I seem to remember needing to do that room with the water and switches. let me look and reply from a computer because this little iPhone keyboard is killing me (& my fingers are killing me from playing freeballing all day)
You can cast Magic Immunity and it makes you immune to ALL magic for 4 turns. Or you can cast Resist Magic and boost your level of resistance to magic attacks. But the easiest way is to enchant items so that when you wear them or use them your level of resistance to magic attacks is increased. Also try getting right up close to the Shamans. I found them much less likely to use lightening against me when I was standing next to them.
im having the same problem mani. Do you know where i could get the magic immunity spell? or even the resist magic?
I can't remember where I picked up the Magic Immunity spell. Over the game I ended up with multiple copies of that spell book. Try all the shops - I can't remember what they are called - the ones with the scroll symbol - their stock changes just about every new game day. Also check all barrels, etc. The only place I found the Resist Magic spell was when I killed the Witch Queen. It was one of the prizes she dropped. But you should be able to buy it from a shop. Enchanting items like armour, gloves, weapons, etc is one of the easier ways to boost your resistance to magic attacks.
The magic immunity and resist magic spells aren't available to Undead characters. However, you can also purchase resist magic potions at the local alchemist's shop. Between enchanted items and potions, I was able to raise my Undead character to 80% magic resistance. Mani is right...the key to fighting your enemies within the game is understanding their weaknesses. For those who want to get up close and personal (melee fighters like dwarves) you'll want to try using ranged weapons or magic upon them. Those who use magic (ie. Shamans) seem quite vulnerable to conventional hand-to-hand weapons.
Hi, I've found using potions, eg magic resistence helps. Try enchanting items to upgrade your alchemy, ie a suit of light armor when its safe, put it on and make your potions. Good luck.
Try enchanting robes or light armor with persuade. 37 to 43 seems to work. Also try reading books in the libraries. You then put on your persuade clothes at the approppriate time. good luck
can anyone provide me a walkthrough for the quest "The Nobleman's Inheritence" in Vastare? I have no idea what to do... I talked to his girlfriend, the stone mason near the inn and the jeweler
