Anyone know how to end the quest for the magical gloves? Been to the mage's house in Vestare but cannot seem to get his apprentice to budge. Get thrown in prison when I try to go in the window. Anyone able to help?
Been trying to figure out a few things on Quest. The cave in the mountain near the Cemetery of Vastares ends with two dead ends. Is there more to this cave. Also what is is with the tale of the three hanged witches? I cannot find a tree or three mounds anywhere around it. Lastly how do you open the unholy portals?
Vastares Does anyone know how to get thru the unholy portals? What is the deal with the three hung witches at the cemetery? I cannot find a tree nor three burial mounds. Anyone know? I also went thru the cave near the cemetery and it had w dead ends. Not much loot at all. Anyone know if there is more to this cave?
my kharma is so low that if i even look at a guard, i get thrown in prison! strider, you are so much ahead of me!
i know there is a town portal spell but that just takes you to the closest town. Is there a faster way to get between the towns?
There are two spells you can use in conjunction with each other. One is called Mark. This allows you to mark a position on the map. How many positions you can mark varies by your level of intelligence. The other spell is called Recall. When you cast Recall you can choose from your list of positions you marked on the map using the Mark spell. These are fantastic spells and are a lot more useful than Town Portal. They save heaps of time too so keep an eye out for them. If you can't learn them, can't find spell books that teach you them, etc, purchase a wand that will allow you to cast them or scrolls. A wand would be better because you can re-charge or re-enchant it when it is used. Edit: a tip if you cast the Mark spell is to boost your intelligence level before you do so as this increases the number of Mark positions you can use. And even if your intelligence falls or is reduced, all prior marked positions will be available too choose from when you cast recall. For example, if you only have 5 positions available, use an intelligence potion, then cast Mark and there will be more available if your intelligence level has been boosted enough by the potion. When the effect of the potion wears off you will still have all the positions you have previously marked.
I assume you mean a tip regarding your question below?: Many of the quests in this game can be completed in more than one way. And some of the methods depend on your character's race, reputation, alignment, etc. I did not complete this quest in this fashion. Instead I convinced the arch mage's assistant to let me pass. I went back to the quest giver and told him that she wouldn't let me get past her. He gave me a spell book that he knew she wanted. I gave it to her and convinced her to let me pass. xXKaMiKaZeeXx posted this advise about using the lamp just a few posts earlier than yours: Based on my experiences in the game I would try touching any lamps immediately outside the house. Only the lamp that will deactivate the magic field should respond when you touch it. Hope that helps.
There is a streetwalker in Vastare who can train you in persuade. If I'm not mistaken she can be found near the main gate of the city center.
