    Cyclops King

I don't believe that temple door is unlockable.

I'm replying from memory, so I could be in error, but there should only be 3 switches in the Silver Peaks quest. Were you able to find the "secret" steps? If so, then you've activate all the switches.

As for the Witch Queen, if you are referring to the place you entered through the "flames", then there isn't a key because it was part of a locked crypt that you couldn't get to from the other side.

Hope my memory corresponded to your questions.

I am stuck in the Silver Peak caves. I talked to the shaman trainer once, but didn't kill him, which I now realize I should have. I went and did the Cyclops King quest. I came back to the shaman trainer but now he just tells me to leave and I can't kill him or get to the last lever!

Is there a way around this or can I not get to the secret alcove now?

    Many thanks neophyte,

With regards to the Silver Peaks, I've activated all three switches that I found and they produce three stepping stones, problem is there is one, then a gap then the other two meaning I step on to the first one but can't go any further, if you look on the map it shows the three steps with a gap in between, so i took it as I'm missing a switch?? But if there is only three switches could it be a bug I've unearthed??

I entered the Empire of the Witch Queen via a tree stump in the Fen of Death region, in there, there is a sign that reads 'Gateway under the Wall' I'm on the Kill the Witch Queen quest and came here looking for her, but I can't get the door open?? I've looked all over for a switch and or Key with out success so I'm a bit stuck? Unless I'm in the wrong place or the wrong side of the door??.

    Any other clues?

    Thanks

    NeoGen

Sorry, I don't know. Perhaps someone else here will be able to help you or to offer advice? Did you try attacking his trainees? I don't recall this Shaman being part of a quest that I did. But I did attack his trainees and then I killed him.

There are two entrances to the Silver Peak caves. If you can only find 3 switches then perhaps you have not explored via the second entrance? If you have and you are still stuck then I'll post a screen image with the switches circled.

This had me stumped for a while. It turns out that I walked past the key. I only found it when I retraced my steps (including going back and speaking with the quest giver again!). From your previous posts I think that you have also walked past the key. Highlight for spoiler: The key is found on a statue in the crypt that you teleport to. BTW before you take on the Witch Queen make sure you equip the Witches Hammer. It is the only weapon that will harm her.

Holy Man quest and other "quest"ions

Hi, all, great game, reminds me of one of my all time favs, Dungeon Master! I have getting ready to pull out of Vastares and move over to the other side of the Wall, but have a few quests and questions... how does one get the Holy Man quest, the one killing the eyes, he won't talk to me... In the dungeon with the hole you enter, the Ancient Ghouls take away my experience points, how do I get them back? Also, when in jail, can I visit and/or should I visit the other inmates, good a load of goodies the first time around ; ) And lastly, how do I increase my ability to unlock a door, I fail most of the time, thanks!

I agree that this is a great game. So much fun and so involving. I can't wait for the expansion game. I'll do my best to answer your questions but my memory is not precise on all the details. Hopefully someone else here will be able to be more specific:

    1) Holy Man quest - I got this quest as a result of completing Yann's Book quest and then trying to complete other quests in Vastares. I had other quests running at the same time. Two quests that might be related are the - Destroy Demon and Exorcise Demon. They led me to the Monastry and thus the Holy Man. I talked to him and eventually he gave me the quest. But I can't remember if his quest was tied to the other two Demon quests or not. If the Holy Man will not talk to you maybe you need to have the other two quests? You get those in Vastares. Finish Yann's Book quest. Talk to Yann (who is the alchemist in Vastares) and he will mention how his reputation has been suffering due to suspicion he is involved in a Demon cult (or something like that). Agree to help him out. This leads to the other Demon quest and to the Monastry where I found the Holy Man and talked to him.

    2) When the Ancient Ghouls took away some experience points from me I got a message saying that I could get them back somehow. I assumed this done when I got experience by killing the ghouls. I thought it was a humourus little joke about earning experience points. The amount of experience points taken from me was very small. From memory 75 or 80 points at a time. The impact of losing these points was very small, especially as the number of points needed to increase your level is in the thousands per level by the end of the game.

    3) There is a quest available later in the game where you will need to free another prisoner. Other than that I didn't try picking the locks when in prison. You should save the game and then try it out. I do know that you will be committing another crime if you do so. But other than that I'm not sure what the consequences are. Try it out and let us know the consequences (for example were there other prisoners, did you escape the jail, what happened the next time you visited the jail or committed a crime, etc).

    4) There is more than one way to increase your lock pick skills. I never had much luck with lock pick or unlocking. I think I wasted a lot of skill points investing in this when I didn't need to. I should have just used an enchanted wand...
a)You can choose this skill when you level up.
b)You can train in this skill (there is a trainer in the city of Mithria)
c)You can use better lockpick tools (BTW - I personally had no better luck with more expensive tools).
    d)You can increase your dexterity.
e)You can enchant equipment, weapons, etc then equip them to increase your lockpick skill.
f)You can purchase or find wands, scrolls, etc that cast a high level of unlock (BTW - I personally had the most luck with these. I'd recommend a wand that his enchanted with the unlock spell. Then you can re-enchant it yourself as needed or pay someone to re-enchant it).

To get the Holy Man quest, you need a minimum Mind Magic ability in order for him to believe that you can read his mind and, thereby, confide in you. If you wish to do trial and error to find that value, don't highlight the answer below :)

You need a high enough Mind Magic to get the "Kill the Eye" quest. Some patient soul found out that skill of at least 25 is needed.

That's interesting. I never knew that. I don't think that my skill in this area was high enough so it must have been something I had equiped that boosted it! :)

    Holy Man quests"ions"

Thanks, Snow and Neo, I think it may indeed be the "Mind Magic" thing, my is pretty low, so I'll move that on up and try again. AFA the experience points, I lost about a thousand point completing that dungeon, I have a save spot so I may go in again after I have tried some magic resist spells or the like. I have also been in jail a couple of time, may back up to an earlier save and get that wand Snow, I can't lockpick worth a damn, even with 25 experience!, the jail is a worthwhile visit for the goodies inside, but don't wait it out, if you get released, you lose level points on hp and something else, besides, there is a window you can always escape from ; ) thanks!

I've been wandering around Mithria for a while trying to figure out what to do. I've joined the theives guild, found a missing boy, entered the palace and banished a ghost (to name a few things). I'm at a loss as to what to do, since i can't get any real information about the governor, or anynew quests from mr.mysteriousor the theives guild. any little quests around the town i've missed? Also what spell do i us in the graveyard back in the firs town to knock down that wall? fireball, ultimate fireball, andmy enchanted sword dont seem to work

It seems like you must be quite advanced in the game. I would suggest that you check through the list of quests posted a couple of pages back by @neophyte. Check these against your list in the game character screen (touch the orb - you can view the current quests, failed quests, completed quests, etc). Then go back and pursue those quests you have not yet been given. You may need to talk to specific characters to trigger some of the quests.

As for your question about the "wall" in the "graveyard" in the first town - do you mean the crypt that has a dead end near where the ghoul appears? If so then highlight for spoiler: Go back and search the walls nearby carefully. There will be a small brick that looks slightly different from the others. Touch this to reveal the secret passage.
If this is not what you mean then you will need to post more details so someone here can help you! :)

Hmm... talking to sister Irenne should have done it. Maybe there is some intermediary step that I don't recall or perhaps it is another quest that depends on the Persuasion skill?

    dungeons regenerate?

Hi, all. It was my understanding that dungeons do not regenerate, however, I went down into the Barren Peak dungeon and there were full monsters and full items present. At least, I believe I had been down earlier in the game, although I have had to use a number of back up saves to help with some bad choices on the quests...

If The Quest is like its forerunner Legacy, areas regenerate on a weekly (game time) basis.

Monsters/Enemies in dungeons regenerate as do monsters/enemies in outdoor regions. They regenerate every 7 days in game time. The bosses do not regenerate, and I've never had items or loot in chests, ledges, etc regenerate. I suspect that the regenerated monsters/enemies are dropping loot for you when you defeat them.

Gotty, You needed Persuade of at least 26 to get Sister Irenne to tell you her secret. Unfortunately, once she leaves she's gone forever.....
