I don't mind if a company wants to use iap's. If that's the business model that's most effective in turning a profit, god bless. But don't set a comparably high price point without telling me that the full version of the game is going to run me $19.
I really don't mind rotating the device to access the inventory, particularly as I use the mute switch as a rotation lock.
It leaves a bad taste when they claim on the app store "25+ hours of gameplay" and then in brackets they explain that's only with the additional $5 IAP. They should word that differently. At least it's not very misleading because they clarify the situation on the same line of the description, I just find it a poor choice and I can imagine others would take it negatively as well. A simple rewording of that line would change everything. Maybe it's not worth complaining about, it didn't affect my purchase but it's just something that struck me. If someone was just skimming the description they may be expecting 25 hours for their $5 purchase.
I would purchase characters if single character price were the price for the bunch (how much a figure costs outside of the game is irrelevant), but it doesn't upset me, I just won't buy one. On the other hand the expansion sounds fair to me, I don't mind coughing up that dough if reports that it is a little longer than the game itself are true, but I'll buy once I've done with base game. Money dished out in game is fine, it's not raining gold but I wouldnt want it to so I have no issues there. The game isn't forcing you to pay for anything, people reporting such are knee jerking. Game gets a 4/5 from me, enjoying it immensely.
Can anyone clarify the IAP for me? How much does it cost to unlock the expansion and all heroes? I don't mind paying for content, but I'd like to know how much everything is before jumping in.
In Aussie Dollars I bought the game, the three extra warriors and the expansion pack for just under $20. Awesome value for such an accomplished game. Considering I thought nothing of spending $100+ in EBGames for PS3 or XBox360 games I consider that excellent value for my money. At the end of the day the enjoyment value is the same IMHO.
Bought the whole package this morning (got up early to do so). Played it on my way to work for 35 minutes and loved it. I planned to play it during lunch brake but my girlfriend called to tell me that she's going to lunch with me. Surprise! I may have not sounded too happy on the phone. Please dont tell her the reason
One question I have, as its not clear from the journal regarding the Adveturers Guild. If I want to swap in a DLC character, do I have to retire an existing character, or can I just saw "hey for a few adventures I need you to rest up before you once again join us to thrash those Orcs, Snottlings and Trolls" (not bought DLC just yet) -- Edit Answering myself, okay so before a quest you can choose who goes along. That's fine
Just been hit hard by the crash bug, it happens every single time I resume on the enemies' turn. I block an attack, the screen goes to the loading screen background for a second then quits. Kinda sad it's stopped me dead in my tracks, but I trust we'll get a bug fix if we let them know. In the meantime I'll start a second save file. 25 hours? You can definitely get that without IAP. Some of us here will triple that.
Have to say, this game is amazing. Beautifully designed and polished. And I'm a hater of IAP but really, the non-consumables I'm just buying because this game is worth it - and the consumables really don't seem needed at all. Totally blown away by this. Jamie.
Yeah I like it to. It feels a little like looking "up" in Skyrim to do your skill branches. I so get why others might not like it but if it was an option I'd probably leave it as is
Is is common to be ambushed 3 turns in a row ? Because I got owned that way in second dungeon even though I bought all better equpiment , moved in formation and moved slowly. It's terrifying how half an hour of dungeoning ends up in a second with couple of bad timed ambushes and dice rolls
Ha that happened to me too. It's a tough mix if trying to get your guys in formation and healthy as you leave your self open to ambushes. My next run was flawless with stronger positioning from my marauder and trollslayer and aiming for two attacks always from my elf
Can someone explain a minor thing for me. I had a Marauder with a short sword 1-5 and picked up one with 5-7 but when i tried to swap it out for the better one i can't.
^maybe the sword wasnt for the marauder? It tells you who can equip each item in the item description. Short sword sounds like it could be for the wizard. Haha welcome to the world of warhammer/gamesworkshop try playing death angel card game if you want to see unfair There's not much I can say here other than wow this game is brilliant. Everything about it from the level of detail in the dungeons and towns to the amount of warhammer content everything is top class. I would have liked to have seen some kind of bundle for the extra characters but still that doesn't take away from this being fantastic and even purchasing all the extra content it's still only about 1/4 of a retail console game. Now if only there was some kind of iap that could extend your battery life preferably not consumable
Really enjoying it thus far, been playing for the last hour and it really does a great job of taking a pen & paper role playing style & board game and mixing them together. The random encounters can be a bit harsh (like getting mugged or bribed by a village - the gits) but they add a nice flavour to the game (and nothing can be as harsh as Dungeon Quest) It definitely doesn't feel like you need to buy the gold IAP's, even though I lost about 200 gold from random encounters (all told) I currently have 740 after two characters leveled. Everything feels attainable as long as I adventure, which I aim to do. I do like the rotate to get to the inventory as it means I have a button less on screen. My only niggles thus far are: Journal could be a bit bigger Likewise the text, certainly not too small though. The End Turn button being at the bottom of the screen, ESP being so close to the edge (niggly due to case I have) Graphics are superb, I'd kind of like it if quests were recorded are replayed in a 3rd person perspective (like Space Hulk has)
