Did you not read the part about it being full retina on ipad 4?

That explains that then, a shame for anyone with a pad3 as it really is pretty on the 4 (please don't think I'm rubbing it in, just stating a fact).

I still don't get why they did it. This isn't an action game, who cares if it runs at 20fps? Doesn't make any sense to me.

I think you misinterpreted my post; as I said, I was going to ask you to specifically illustrate your concerns, but as you confirmed with the developers my understanding about the game being Retina-based on 4th-gen devices, there's now no need for that.

The second part of my post was just reiterating that the game's assets are very obviously Retina-based on 4th-gen devices, which is why the descriptions of weird resolution problems, blocky characters and claims that only the UI was Retina-based were generating confused responses from people who were not seeing the same problems you were.

I'm not sure what's hard to understand but you're dealing with a game built on a lot of 2D assets, these run faster but cause memory problems which translates to performance issues, extended caching, more problematic purging of assets and so on. Not every resolution will have specific built assets and this could be for a number of reasons, asset management, file size and so on.

I see from your follow up you got a response, I'm not sure what you understand about development but I would trust them to know what's best in getting the game working.

Hmm, well I was a software developer for 10 years, though not a game developer. I consider myself fairly techy.

What we have here is a bunch of 2D sprites having (according to the dev) difficulty running on a machine with 1GB of RAM. Your assertion that memory is the issue just doesn't add up I'm afraid.

Also I'm not sure why you and others are fixated on the resolution of the assets. The issue here is the resolution that the screen is rendered at, not the resolution of the assets themselves.

And from my iPod touch 4G,

After trying on both, other than it taking an age to load on my iPod, there's things like the shine of the light on the characters missing and the graphics are not as sharp. Doesn't look bad for being on the iPod though.

Wow, it looks lovely. The difference is even greater than I imagined. Why oh why did I buy an iPad 3. Sigh.

Roll on Xmas. I'll be getting a PS4 and a Vita and streaming my PS4 games from the former to the latter, and my iPad 3 will be smashed to pieces in a special ceremony involving beer and a hammer.

I'm playing on the ipad 2 and iphone 5. While the graphics on the i5 are sharper the ipad is better because iPads are great for strategy. If power was what you were after, ios was never going to compete

My biggest issue, which has been mentioned before, is there should have been consideration of text readability on smaller devices. Bigger text/bolder font .... or at least give the option to zoom in.

Half the time, I'm missing some of the story because I can't read it!

What is your favorite/strongest/most useful hero? Why?

Can someone post some hero guides?
I'm lost as to whats what even with journal?

To start i have unlocked all heroes but I'm still not sure ehat each hero excells at.

So far i think the Elf Ranger seems to be the most useful, not sure about rest.

Anyone with more play experience can enlighten us newbie lvl 1's with some tips overall?

    Thanks?

It's really small even on the ipad. It could be universally made larger

I can easily read everything in game if you can't I suggest an eye test may be needed.

So far I'm really enjoying the game, I can't believe it's taken so many years for someone to think to make a Warhammer game.

Hard is an understatement. I'm ready to take out a magnifying glass. It might as well be text you see for fine print at the bottom of a commercial that nobody wants you to read
I don't have words to describe how stupidly small (yes, stupidly) the text is on the 4s.

Ha. I can read it just fine but it is extremely small in regards to screen real estate. It could be made a bit larger without hurting the game

Yes It's legible on the touch 5 but it's still very small. There is plenty of real estate to make it a tad bigger. Maybe in a future update they could tweak the text for smaller devices , and fix the crashing.
