That's what I was thinking... I've been wondering the same thing for a while, and whether the difference is in usability (self or others) or in the die roll (higher chance), I wish it was better explained in the info cards. As it stands, they look functionally identical.
It's pointless. Depends on your play style, descriptions of how the characters play can be found earlier in the thread.
Just pick this up, play couple dungeons, found some armored and weapons BUT HOW CAN I EQUIP THEM, tried every menu option but still can't found it! Thanks And the font are way too small on iPhone....
So of the three DLC characters, I'm considering the Archmage and Warrior Priest. The dwarves seem very similar. Good choices?
What is your criteria? Fun to play? Cool looks? More special powers? Weaker characters so more challenging to play? Stronger characters so easier to play? Plays different from the stock original quartet? Plays similarly to the original characters?
I believe the To Hit chart boils down to: Compare WS values. If equal, 4+ to hit. If attacker is higher, 3+ to hit. If defender is double or more attacker, 5+ to hit. All on 1d6. Loving this game! It's a dungeon crawler done to Infinity Blade standards, IMHO. The AAA dungeon game.
I find archmage different because his spells flip flop between offensive and defensive every round. Warrior Priest has buffing spell and accuracy increasing spell that are useful too. But then after buying the IAP characters, I end up with seven while only four can go out each time, so I am wondering if I should ignore those left back in town, or if I should rotate them as they do not seem to auto level up with my active party...
Sweet thanks man. Is it able to the font bigger in the setting I can't read those text in my phone, or Or it is not design to play on the phone?
I'm afraid the only way to do that might be to get a more powerful device. I'm playing it on the iPhone 3GS, and I am having alot of crashes as well. Doesn't make the game unplayable, as it seems to save at decent intervals, but it's annoying enough that I would be second guessing my purchase of this game if I weren't getting an iPad Mini in about a week, which is really the only reason I sprang for this game in the first place. But I'm pretty sure it is crashing so often due to the limited memory of our devices. They just aren't meant to run some of the newer games coming out, or at least not meant to run them well.
I love the game so far! I used to have the board game years ago, and this version holds up well in comparison. I remember the days of cursing the person who rolled a random encounter in the middle of a big boss battle, and I've had a couple of those experiences in this one. I'm still playing through the first time on medium difficulty (Adventurer?), and I did start a hardcore game as well. Death is permanent in hardcore, however you can recruit new members to replace the dead ones. I've lost two dwarven ironbreakers in my early HC adventuring, so I might switch to a shield and one hand weapon with him. I haven't purchased any of the IAP yet, but I plan on getting the expansion and one or more of the additional character. I loved the warrior priest in the board game, so I'll probably get that one first. Hammer of Sigmar, FTW!
Tried attacking different mobs with my characters but still the game crashes when the turn is ended. I wonder if theres a flaw with this quest/dungeon? (First town, red dungeon hunting for the guys flute)
