Beside permadeath, how is hardcore mode different? --- And can someone explain what "remainder of turn" actually means? I'm using the Warrior Priest and his two level 1 spells only affect my warriors for remainder of the turn. But do those effects end once I press the "End turn" button or are they active when the enemies attack?
I'm not 100% sure, but if you look at the "Sequence of Play" section here: http://www.orderofgamers.com/downloads/WarhammerQuest_v1.1.pdf I'm guessing that a turn ends when each of those is over, so it should be active when the enemy attacks. In-game settings? That might be because it's disables in your actual device settings, so check there.
Game Impressions One case of the game's vaguery that really irked me regarding the Warrior Priest. Every Warrior Priest comes stocked with a Jade Ring which, by reading the description sounds like it could heal or injure you each turn. By the description this sounds like some 50/50 thing that only affects the Warrior Priest when in actuality it will much more often heal the priest and adjacent pals than hurt, and when it hurts it's a fixed minor amount. The first game I played with the Warrior Priest I immediately sold the ring as it sounded way too risky to bother with from the vague description. The actual mechanics behind the Jade Ring? Roll 3 dice and if you get a pair (or triple), the priest and adjacent buddies are healed that much. The catch? If you roll double or triple 1's, you all take 2 wounds instead.
I don't know how many people know this (most likely a lot, most helpful for people playing hardcore) If a warrior is downed you can get him back up again before he finally falls, use a provision (healing item) or use the wizard to cast a healing spell on him and they will get back up again) Bandages will always fail so don't use them for this trick
Yeah, there are some terms the game tosses about that, while they sound obvious, mean something a little different in this game: Turn: This appears to mean BOTH the player and monster phases. I think this is what other games would actually call a round. Warrior: This has nothing to do with fighter vs. mage classes as ALL characters are warriors. So even a Grey Wizard can do deathblows, it isn't just something "Warriors" (traditional fighter types) can do.
So is THIS why bandages are so much cheaper than provisions? I actually thought both bandages and provisions have a chance of failure but healing magic will ALWAYS work for this.
Are you playing on Hardcore? How is it different from the easier difficulties? I know there is permadeath. Do enemies have better gear and weapons or are stronger, stuff like that?
Thanks I manage to get th cloud out.. But the issue is I have already progressed to the 2nd town.. Is there anyway to sync it to the cloud instead of replaying?
I got all characters to Lv 4 and couple of them to Lv 5 ( those I prefer most). My "main" party consists of Marauder, Dwarf Trollslayer, Grey Wizard and Elf Waywatcher. Marauder - high toughness , lots of health and defense if you equip him with good armor , only annoying thing is that he goes berserk every third or so turn , or when surrounded so I loose his damage dealing ability which can be very critical at moments.Mostly used as tank to go first into crowded room and hope enemies concentrate on him. Dwarf Trollslayer - awesome guy, very high damage dealing, rather good defense when equipped with better stuff .I pack him mostly with strength and melee boosting potions so he can deal big damage on bosses and tougher enemies.Huge plus is than he can also use bombs like dwarf Ironbreaker , try to carry at least one of those with you in harder dungeons. Grey Wizard - my favourite character, only one than can own whole room in one turn by himself at higher level.Huge mix of highly useful magic, I just adore his bolt and that 2 damage multiple hitting one, those 2 can take out whole room of critters alone.Healing and reviving magic is a huge boost when confronted with harder or owner helping enemies, they have saved other party members from death numerous times. That paired up with ability that he can actually use better swords and attack 3 times at higher levels for some serious damage makes him best character in my party.Only downside is that he dies as fast as he makes other dead Elf Waywatcher - My second favorite character. She has very good Melee attack and awesome multiple ranged ones, one of those characters that can tip the course of battle if used right.Huge bonus is she evades often, and with some bonus equipment is pretty much hard to be hit by enemy.
I know you weren't asking, but to elaborate on that a little... provisions use up your warrior's turn, bandages don't.
Does anyone else's heart get pumping when that menu music starts playing? I have a thing for instrumental music from movies and games and that score is just badass and just gets you in the mood for adventure Thank you, didnt realize this
I'm not absolutely certain, but I think you're wrong about that. I believe bandages can revive fallen warriors, but there's always a chance it'll fail. I'm pretty sure I've been able to revive with bandages, but again, I'm not certain. The only sure way of revival is spells.
Keeps crashing whenever it tries to load Beasts of Burden quest outside Marburg. More annoying, when I restart, can't just try to do the quest again, but have to travel back to Marburg, then go back to quest location only to have it crash when it tries to load dungeon. Playing on Ipad mini wireless. have tried full shut down, same problem. I've done two other quests in between, hoping it would somehow make it work, but didn't help. Anyone else have this issue?
It sounds like you haven't played many RPG's in your lifetime. It's pretty standard that training cost money in many games of this ilk, and apparently this rule is ported from the actual board game, (which I haven't played myself). You'll get plenty of money to level up and buying gear in the game, but it's part of the gameplay to use your money strategically and sometimes have to choose between training or buying gear. Apart from this, there's random encounters that can rob you of money too, (and health), but also a few good encounters that can earn you money or loot. It's a stable of the genre, nothing to be upset about.
the more i play the better this game gets, wish i would have play the tabletop version in its time sadly Good thing as well there even like some unique epics weapons as well from the dungeons, that hammer of sigmar hit 60 when its a critical hit For the looks of things i may be lucky my game haven't crash at all just only when i change the lenguage during gameplay, but since i restore my device the same day this was out maybe its because of that For those complaning about the gold just keep playing later on you will find gold more easily BTW does the ironbreaker only have 4 skills?
