I'm running him in lvl 1 dungeons, the problem is for some bizarre reason the Blade of Night spell doesn't work on him but it works on everyone else. The Ironbreaker that I dropped from my squad has WS 5 and is absolutely awful at hitting anything. I have to cast BoN on him once a turn just to get him to hit anything in a standard dungeon. I have tons of money at this point, so yeah I think getting the TS a mastercrafted weap or a blue with +hit is probably the best shot at this stage. Just a real pain in the ass I can't give him extra attacks. I'm pretty damn annoyed that I paid for a character and this pretty core spell just doesn't work on him for no explained reason.
I want to do a quest and leave the Mage at home. He's pretty useless as he rarely gets enough magic points to attack. Is there a way of generating another character at the character select screen?
Is anyone able to complete the Grey Seer tail quest? Everytime I kill the boss and end the turn the game crashes.
How would you guys rate Slayer vs Iron/Priest/Archmage? I am at lvl 5 Slayer and he just misses WAYYYYY too much for my liking and starting to annoy the hell out of me. Thanks for feedback
For some reason that spell only works on level 2 characters minimum. Once you level him up, it he will be able to get that extra attack from the spell.
All three are good, just depends on what you like in your characters. See my post here for some impressions: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=2851363#post2851363 And that with your Slayer missing often is weird (I have the same problem with the Wayfarer). --- I never had that problem with my Slayer, same goes for my Dwarves. But then I used a Knuckleduster pretty much from the start; it increases hit chance. --- Ignore that part, EDIT for own misreading (Troll)Slayer for Marauder: Knuckleduster is for Marauder only. (Troll)Slayer is one of the Dwarves, the other is the Ironbreaker. Mine has WS4, and hits good enough even without hitchance boosting equipment/skills. Seeing that we get such a wide range of experiences on the subject, maybe there is something going on "behind the scenes" (read: hidden mechanics) that we all miss so far.
This is a known bug. I've found that "killing" the boss on the first turn will consistently cause the game to crash, but on the three tests I performed, I was always able to proceed by only damaging the boss on the first turn (while wiping out his minions), and then taking him down on the second turn so he teleported away. Naturally, the first time I got past the battle the exit from the room was bugged and I couldn't leave. The next two times worked though.
Well, according to the standard rules a natural roll of 1 will always miss, regardless of equipment or other modifiers, while a natural 6 will always hit. Thus, there's always going to be a chance of missing even if your weapon skill far outstrips your opponent's, and when your weapon skill is the same, you only have a base 50% chance of hitting them.
Gah overestimated myself and lost all my warriors on the last black dungeon lol Oh well time to build my team back up and prepare a little bit more
Huh. Thanks for the info! That is such a bizarre rule to have and then hide from the player. Thankfully I got my TS 5k xp in a single run so he's already halfway to lvl 3 - BoN will definitely help him speed things up
Thanks for writing this up, Appletini. I knew about this boardgame rule, but what I saw so far most of the time fits perfectly into that distribution. My "statistical anomaly" is my Wayfarer, who misses more than 2/3 of the time when I use her. For others it are different characters that work perfectly fine for me; i.e. ChaosProdigy's Trollslayer and Bubbapook's Ironbreaker. Which made me wonder if there is an additional rule/mechanic that we do not know about. But could be just unlucky dicerolls.
The wayfarer should hit 50% of the time from level 1 to 3 with his bow After level 4, it should hit about 66,6% of the time, according to rules. My level 5 Wayfarer, with a Shortbow is hitting very regularely with 4 attacks per turn (Found an amulet that grants +1 ranged attack per turn ) It's almost too easy to finish stuff with hiù now. The biggest advantage of the Wayfarer is the fact that you can combine melee attack and ranged attacks. If it doesn't work for you, just give it better equipment, because mine is just great
So are you happy or not? I'm mostly pleased. Taken in chunks, the overall adaptation is very good. What is odd is keeping the individual pieces of the board game, but 100% dumping the entire framework it was played under.
Her equipment is good enough, so that's not the problem. Will stick with the shorties, I never liked the pointy-eared treehuggers anyway
Do you have any examples of what this "framework" is? So far, it seems that no one but you understands what you're talking about.
What did you do exactly. Even killing all minions, ending the turn, then killing him next turn is not working.
I wouldn't get your hopes up. The game gave my Grey Wizard nothing but stupid healing spells all the way to level 6. Anyone who's played the game knows you'll only use 2 or 3 healing spells at most. There's absolutely no need for 5 freaking healing spells. I understand that the spells you get on level up are random but it seems like a massive oversight to not guarantee that you get at least one more offensive spell or something. I could understand if you chose what spells to get when you level up and you made some bad choices, but for the game to just randomly assign spells just seems a bit unfair because it just artificially makes the game harder if(and when) you don't get anything good. At the very least they could let you pay to replace one of your spells or something.
It's like you read my mind and then came here to post! I just got my grey wiz to level 6, and sure enough, got a goddamn healing spell too. I only have Shadow Daggers and Shadow Bolt, and while the bolt is ok for large groups of squishies, not having a single decent single target DPS spell is a real shame. I didn't actually realise it was random until people on here posted their spells - guess they want to encourage multiple playthroughs, but given that it's random I don't think I can be assed to bother playing all over again just to see what happens.
