If the "hate mail" you are referring to is associated with bubblesand, I don't see it. I see a few bad reviews with a common theme mentioning crashes. You should be able to grab informative crash logs from iTunes connect and work our the root cause.
Strange, this thread says 5 pages of posts but only 4 display? Well I've moved on from that app, normally zero sales. Though I do have a final update planned if I finish game in time. Not a single crash report last time I looked, or am I able to reproduce one. Must admit I've made a few enemies, not that I wanted to of course! Normally a language barrier thing, ironic really but unrelated. Except maybe when I once noticed a developers app had a really unfair review so I wrote a better one...the guy never spoke to me again! I took it down, and hence don't try to be a 'do gooder'. So yea, I say move on and next app keep it simple. Edit: just refreshed iTC and there's a single timeout on load with iOS5. though I can't view the report on iPhone...
